Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, penelitian ini merancang bangun sebuah Modbus gateway berbasis IoT. Menggunakan mikrokontroler ESP32S3 N16R8 dan teknologi Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 4.2, sistem ini memungkinkan konfigurasi dinamis melalui aplikasi mobile, sehingga mampu meningkatkan fleksibilitas dan efisiensi. Metode yang digunakan mencakup integrasi protokol komunikasi Modbus RTU, TCP/IP, serta MQTT dan HTTP untuk pengiriman data ke cloud. Pengujian performa dilakukan untuk mengukur keberhasilan pairing BLE, akurasi konversi data Modbus, dan latensi pengiriman data. Hasilnya menunjukkan performa sistem yang sangat baik, dengan akurasi pembacaan data 100% dan tingkat keberhasilan pairing BLE di atas 80%. Protokol MQTT terbukti lebih efisien dengan latensi rata-rata 35,4 ms, jauh lebih rendah dibandingan protokol HTTP yang memiliki latensi rata-rata 2324,8 ms, sehingga menjadi pilihan ideal untuk monitoring real-time. Dengan demikian, sistem ini berhasil menyediakan solusi monitoring yang fleksibel, aman, dan efisien sesuai kebutuhan industri 4.0. ----- The limitations of industrial communication protocols in supporting remote monitoring, along with the lack of configuration flexibility, pose challenges to existing gateway systems. To address these issues, this study designs and develops an IoT-based Modbus gateway. Utilizing the ESP32S3 N16R8 microcontroller and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 4.2 technology, the system enables dynamic configuration through a mobile application, thereby improving flexibility and efficiency. The method involves integrating Modbus RTU, TCP/IP communication protocols along with MQTT and HTTP for cloud data transmission. Performance testing was conducted to measure BLE pairing success, Modbus data conversion accuracy, and data transmission latency. Results demonstrate excellent system performance, with 100% data read accuracy and BLE pairing success rates above 80%. MQTT proved to be more efficient, with an average latency of 35.4 ms-significantly lower than HTTP’s average latency of 2324.8 ms-making it the ideal protocol for real-time monitoring.
