Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, dikembangkan media pembelajaran EPIC-SMART pada materi usaha dan energi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui karakteristik media serta efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self-efficacy siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE, yang mencakup tahapan Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Subjek uji coba terdiri atas 58 siswa di salah satu SMA di Tasikmalaya. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar validasi ahli media dan materi, angket self-efficacy, serta tes keterampilan berpikir kritis. Data dianalisis dengan perhitungan persentase, peningkatan menggunakan nilai N-Gain serta bantuan model Rasch. Karakteristik EPIC-SMART ditunjukkan melalui integrasi tiga tahapan metakognitif, yaitu perencanaan, monitoring, dan evaluasi, yang dikemas dalam media berbasis Android dengan fitur interaktif. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media EPIC-SMART memiliki tingkat kelayakan sangat tinggi dengan skor 90,41% oleh ahli media dan 94% oleh ahli materi. Media juga dinyatakan sangat praktis oleh siswa dengan skor 92%. Hasil peningkatan berpikir kritis menggunakan N-Gain mendapatkan skor 0,36 dalam kategori sedang, dan N-Gain self-efficacy sebesar 0,61 dalam kategori sedang. Peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis ini juga didukung oleh analisis Rasch menggunakan teknik stacking dan racking untuk melihat perubahan tingkat kemampuan siswa dan penguasaan terhadap setiap indikator. Berdasarkan analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran EPIC-SMART dinyatakan layak dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran fisika serta dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan self-efficacy peserta didik melalui pendekatan metakognitif yang sistematis dan interaktif. Physics learning still faces challenges in improving students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy, while digital media designed based on metacognitive approaches are still limited. To address these issues, EPIC-SMART learning media was developed for work and energy materials. This study aims to determine the characteristics of the media and its effectiveness in improving students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy. The method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model, which encompasses the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The trial subjects consisted of 58 students at a high school in Tasikmalaya. The instruments used included validation sheets from media and material experts, a self-efficacy questionnaire, and a critical thinking skills test. Data were analyzed by calculating percentages, increasing using N-Gain values, and using the Rasch model. The characteristics of EPIC-SMART are demonstrated through the integration of three metacognitive stages: planning, monitoring, and evaluation, which are packaged in an Android-based media with interactive features. The validation results indicate that EPIC-SMART media has a very high level of feasibility, with scores of 90.41% among media experts and 94% among material experts. The media was also declared very practical by students, with a score of 92%. The results of improving critical thinking using N-Gain yielded a score of 0.36 in the moderate category, and a N-Gain self-efficacy score of 0.61 in the moderate category. This improvement in critical thinking skills was also supported by Rasch analysis, which utilized stacking and racking techniques to assess changes in student ability levels and mastery of each indicator.
