Meskipun potensial, tingkat pemanfaatannya berisiko menimbulkan overfishing sehingga diperlukan kajian stok untuk menjamin keberlanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkirakan Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) serta tingkat eksploitasi madidihang yang didaratkan di PPN Palabuhanratu selama periode 2014-2023. Data penelitian berupa catatan hasil tangkapan dan jumlah trip berbagai jenis alat tangkap, yang kemudian distandarisasi melalui pendekatan Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) dan Fishing Power Index (FPI). Analisis stok dilakukan dengan menggunakan model surplus produksi Schaefer berbantuan perangkat lunak RStudio dan paket MQMF. Hasil estimasi menunjukkan MSY sebesar 2.785 ton/tahun, upaya optimum (EMSY) 1.112 trip/tahun, hasil tangkapan per unit optimum (UMSY) 2,50 ton/trip, serta jumlah tangkapan yang diizinkan (JTB) 2.228 ton/tahun. Tingkat pemanfaatan selama periode penelitian dikategorikan lightly exploited dengan rata-rata 37\%. Nilai CPUE berfluktuasi tetapi cenderung stabil pada lima tahun terakhir, yang menandakan stok madidihang relatif aman dan masih memiliki peluang pemanfaatan secara berkelanjutan. Temuan ini menekankan perlunya penerapan sistem kuota dan pengendalian effort agar pemanfaatan dapat dioptimalkan tanpa melebihi kapasitas lestari. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi rujukan dalam penyusunan kebijakan serta strategi pengelolaan perikanan tuna di Palabuhanratu. The Yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) is one of the major pelagic species of high economic value commonly landed at the Nusantara Fishing Port (PPN) of Palabuhanratu. Despite its potential, its utilization carries the risk of overfishing, making stock assessment essential to ensure sustainability. This study aims to estimate the Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) and evaluate the exploitation level of yellowfin tuna landed at PPN Palabuhanratu during 2014-2023. The data consisted of production records and fishing trips from various gears, standardized using the Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) and Fishing Power Index (FPI) approaches. Stock assessment was carried out using the Schaefer surplus production model with the aid of RStudio and the MQMF package. The results indicated an MSY of 2,785 tons/year, an optimum effort (EMSY) of 1,112 trips/year, an optimum yield per unit of effort (UMSY) of 2.50 tons/trip, and an allowable biological catch (JTB) of 2,228 tons/year. The average exploitation level during the study period was classified as lightly exploited, with a utilization rate of about 37\%. Although CPUE fluctuated, it remained relatively stable in the last five years, suggesting that the stock is still in a safe condition and has potential for sustainable utilization. These findings highlight the importance of implementing quota-based management and controlling fishing effort to optimize utilization without exceeding sustainable limits.
