Dalam konteks ini, pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) memiliki peran strategis untuk membentuk karakter siswa yang peduli terhadap isu-isu sosial dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penerapan program Campaign Reuse yang dikembangkan oleh LSM Masihan.id sebagai sumber belajar alternatif dalam pembelajaran IPS. Program ini dirancang untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran dan kepedulian sosial peserta didik melalui pendekatan kontekstual berbasis isu lingkungan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Quasi Eksperimen dengan melibatkan dua kelompok siswa kelas 7 SMP. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuisioner yang telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas, serta melalui pelaksanaan program secara langsung pada kelompok eksperimen. Penelitian ini menilai perubahan pemahaman, sikap, dan perilaku siswa dalam aspek kepedulian sosial sebelum dan sesudah intervensi pembelajaran berbasis program Campaign Reuse. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program tersebut mampu mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam isu lingkungan, meningkatkan empati sosial, serta menumbuhkan tanggung jawab terhadap masyarakat dan alam sekitar. Program Campaign Reuse terbukti menjadi sumber belajar yang efektif untuk pembelajaran IPS yang tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek kognitif, tetapi juga afektif dan konatif. Sebagai tindak lanjut, penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi program lingkungan serupa ke dalam kurikulum IPS serta pengembangan program keberlanjutan berupa kegiatan Sabtu Ceria. Program keberlanjutan ini dirancang sebagai wadah rutin bagi siswa untuk terus mengasah kepedulian sosial dan lingkungan di luar pembelajaran formal, sehingga karakter peduli dan bertanggung jawab dapat terjaga secara konsisten sejak dini. Environmental issues marked by the increasing amount of plastic waste and the low social awareness of young generations have become major challenges in 21st-century education. In this context, Social Studies (IPS) plays a strategic role in shaping students’ character to be more aware of social and environmental issues. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Campaign Reuse program developed by the NGO Masihan.id as an alternative learning resource in Social Studies. The program is designed to foster students’ awareness and social responsibility through a contextual approach based on environmental issues. The research employed a Quasi-Experimental approach involving two groups of 7th-grade junior high school students. Data were collected using questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability, as well as through the direct implementation of the program in the experimental group. This study assessed changes in students’ understanding, attitudes, and behaviors regarding social awareness before and after the learning intervention based on the Campaign Reuse program. The findings show that the program was able to encourage active student participation in environmental issues, increase social empathy, and foster responsibility toward society and the natural environment. The Campaign Reuse program proved to be an effective learning resource for Social Studies, not only focusing on cognitive aspects but also on affective and conative aspects. As a follow-up, this study recommends the integration of similar environmental programs into the Social Studies curriculum and the development of a sustainability program called Sabtu Ceria.
