%L repoupi136676 %X Coffee consumption has become a part of student lifestyle, particularly in supporting academic and social activities. However, excessive coffee intake can reduce sleep quality, which may subsequently affect the menstrual cycle. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between coffee consumption, sleep quality, and menstrual cycle among first-year female students at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Sumedang Campus. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was used, involving 130 participants selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a significance level of p<0.05. The results showed no significant direct effect of coffee consumption on the menstrual cycle. However, there was a significant indirect relationship mediated by sleep quality. Coffee consumption, especially at night, had a negative effect on sleep quality (p = 0.037), and poor sleep quality significantly affected menstrual cycle disturbances (p = 0.004). Mediation analysis using the Baron and Kenny (1986) approach confirmed that sleep quality fully mediated the relationship between coffee consumption and menstrual cycle. This means that coffee only affects menstruation when it causes sleep disturbances. Therefore, maintaining good sleep quality is a key strategy to support regular menstrual cycles in young women, beyond merely limiting coffee intake.
