Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai alur pelaksanaan pelatihan dan penerapan metode The Seven Step Model dalam proses evaluasinya. Leader as Teacher merupakan pelatihan untuk mengatasi GAP kompetensi ASN yang menempatkan pemimpin sebagai fasilitator pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, melalui teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, studi dokumentasi, dan observasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari penyelenggara pelatihan yang terdiri dari tim perencana hingga evaluasi, dan kepala bidang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alur pelatihan telah dirancang dengan struktur yang cukup sistematis, meskipun masih terdapat beberapa tahapan yang kurang optimal, seperti tahap penyusunan kurikulum, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pelatihan. Penerapan The Seven Step Model membantu mengidentifikasi kelebihan dan kelemahan dalam setiap tahap pelatihan, serta memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan untuk pelatihan ke depannya. Selain itu, persepsi narasumber menunjukkan bahwa metode ini mampu mengarahkan evaluasi pelatihan menjadi lebih terukur. Namun, tantangan tetap ada, terutama dalam hal keterbatasan waktu dan sumber daya. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam menguatkan pentingnya metode evaluasi yang sistematis dan penyusunan kurikulum yang resmi dalam pelatihan untuk pengembangan kompetensi ASN. Kata Kunci : Leader as Teacher, Seven Step Model, Pelatihan ASN This research examines the Leader as Teacher training program in the development of civil servant (ASN) competencies at the Human Resource Development Agency (BPSDM) of West Java Province. The purpose of this research is to provide an overview of the training implementation process and the application of the Seven Step Model in its evaluation. Leader as Teacher is a training program designed to address competency gaps among civil servants by positioning leaders as facilitators of learning. This study employs a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, document analysis, and direct observation. The research subjects include training organizers ranging from planning to evaluation teams and division heads. The findings indicate that the training process was designed with a fairly systematic structure, although some stages remain suboptimal, such as curriculum development, evaluation, and post training follow-up. The application of the Seven Step Model helps identify strengths and weaknesses in each stage of the training, as well as provide recommendations for future improvements. Moreover, informants’ perceptions suggest that this method enhances the measurability of training evaluations. Nevertheless, challenges remain, particularly in terms of time constraints and limited resources. Therefore, this study contributes to reinforcing the importance of systematic evaluation methods and formal curriculum development in training programs aimed at improving civil servant competencies.
