Mathematical communication ability is one of the essential competencies students need in mathematics learning, as it plays a role in expressing ideas, understanding concepts, and conveying thoughts logically and systematically. However, various studies show that this ability is still relatively low among many students. One internal factor suspected to influence mathematical communication ability is self-efficacy, which refers to an individual's belief in their ability to complete specific tasks. This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy on senior high school students? mathematical communication ability in the topic of statistics. A quantitative approach with a correlational method was used. The research instruments consisted of a self-efficacy questionnaire and an essay test to assess students? mathematical communication skills. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results revealed a positive relationship between self-efficacy and students? mathematical communication ability, with a contribution of 9.4%. In other words, the higher the students? self-efficacy, the better their ability to communicate mathematically. Additionally, the study revealed a positive relationship between high self-efficacy and students' mathematical communication ability, contributing 18% to the explained variance. However, it was found that low and moderate self-efficacy levels did not significantly affect communication ability. Future researchers may explore aspects that have not been addressed in this study.
