Exercising is a non-pharmacological management. Exercises that elderly people with hypertension can do is ergonomic exercises whose series of movements are resembles prayer movements. This exercise lowers blood pressure by stimulating blood vessel function and lowering blood pressure in individuals with high blood pressure. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Ergonomic Exercise on reducing blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension. Methods: This research design is pre-test and post-test with control-group. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique with a total of 29 respondents divided into two groups: Ergonomic Exercise group and Control group. The intervention was carried out 2x 60 minutes/week for 4 weeks. Blood pressure data were analyzed using the wilcoxon signed ranks test and mann-whitney u-test with α (0.05). Results: This decrease shows the effect of Ergonomic Exercise on blood pressure as evidenced by the results of the wilcoxon signed ranks test, which obtained a systolic p value of 0.001 and a diastolic p value of 0.002 (p<0.05). And the results of the mann-whitney u-test obtained a systolic p value of 0.033 and a diastolic p value of <0.001 (p<0.05). So it can be concluded that "Ha" is accepted which proves that there is a significant influence of Ergonomic Exercise on reducing blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension. Discussion: Ergonomic exercise can lower blood pressure by stimulating the work of peripheral nerves, especially parasympathetic nerves, which causes vasodilation of blood vessels so that blood pressure falls and is more controlled. date: 2024-06-26 type: Thesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/129828/2/S_KPR_2002071_Title.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/129828/3/S_KPR_2002071_Chapter1.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/129828/4/S_KPR_2002071_Chapter2.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/129828/5/S_KPR_2002071_Chapter3.pdf format: text language: id identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/129828/1/S_KPR_2002071_Chapter4.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/129828/6/S_KPR_2002071_Chapter5.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/129828/7/S_KPR_2002071_Appendix.pdf identifier: Danies Laelatul Ahdiah, - (2024) THE EFFECT OF ERGONOMIC EXERCISES ON BLOOD PRESSURE AMONG ELDERLY WITH HYPERTENSION.
