Kanker payudara merupakan penyakit dengan penyebab kematian terbanyak yang biasanya menyerang perempuan. Salah satu faktor tingginya angka kematian kanker payudara yaitu dikarenakan telatnya diagnosa dan pengobatan. Masih banyak perempuan yang belum mengetahui SADARI (Pemeriksaan Payudara Sendiri) sebagai upaya deteksi dini kanker payudara. Untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, maka perlu dilakukannya promosi kesehatan. Terdapat 2 metode promosi kesehatan yang biasanya dilakukan, yaitu ceramah dan Small Group Discussion (SGD). Tujuan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui perbandingan efektivitas promosi kesehatan metode ceramah dengan metode Small Group Discussion (SGD) mengenai pengetahuan SADARI pada remaja. Metode. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu pre-experimental design (group intact comparison) dengan pendekatan two group pre-post test. Jumlah sample keseluruhan pada penelitian ini yaitu 188 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu berupa kuesioner. Data yang telah terkumpul melalui kuesioner pre-test dan post-test dianalisis menggunkan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara efektivitas promosi kesehatan metode ceramah dengan metode Small Group Discussion (SGD) mengenai pengetahuan SADARI pada remaja dengan p-value 0.002. Kesimpulan. Promosi kesehatan metode ceramah dengan metode Small Group Discussion sama-sama dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan SADARI pada remaja, namun promosi kesehatan metode ceramah lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan SADARI pada remaja dibandingkan promosi kesehatan dengan metode Small Group Discussion. Background. Breast cancer is the disease with the most causes of death that usually affects women. One of the factors for the high mortality rate of breast cancer is due to late diagnosis and treatment. There are still many women who do not know BSE (Breast Self Examination) as an effort to detect breast cancer early. To increase knowledge, it is necessary to conduct health promotion. There are 2 methods of health promotion that are usually done, namely lectures and Small Group Discussions (SGD). Objective. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of health promotion of the lecture method with the SGD method regarding BSE knowledge in adolescents. Methods. The method used in this study was pre-experimental design (group intact comparison) with a two group pre-post test approach. The total sample size in this study was 188 people. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The data that has been collected through the pre-test and post-test questionnaires was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results. The results of this study are that there is a significant difference between the effectiveness of health promotion of the lecture method and the SGD method regarding SADARI knowledge in adolescents with a p-value of 0.002. Conclusion.
