relation: http://repository.upi.edu/126579/ title: THE STRUCTURAL MOVES OF HIGHLY-CITED BIOCHEMISTRY RESEARCH ARTICLES: A GENRE ANALYSIS creator: Mutiara Elsa Putri, - subject: PE English description: Publishing research articles is essential as they contribute to developing information and enhancing knowledge that is systematically organized in the form of academic communication writing. Although the IMRD (Introduction, Method, and Results and Discussion) format has been commonly used to organize the structure of research articles, many novice writers still face difficulties in producing systematically organized research articles. Therefore, this present work aims to analyze the rhetorical structure of the highly cited biochemistry research articles indexed in Scopus, an international database journal. A total of thirty biochemistry research articles (RAs) from Scopus were analyzed for this present study. This qualitative study used combination frameworks to investigate the sections: Abstract: Hyland (2000), Introduction: Swales (2004), Method: Cotos et al., (2017), and Result and Discussion: Moreno and Swales (2018). Employing Kanoksilapatham’s (2005) conventional value standard, the analysis showed that four moves in the abstract sections, three in the introduction sections, one in the method sections, and two in the result and discussion sections can all be classified as conventional. In addition, only a few steps contained in the conventional move were considered conventional. The present work provides valuable insights as a reference for biochemistry researchers to enhance the quality and clarity of their articles for international publication. date: 2024-08-26 type: Thesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/126579/1/S_ING_2005017_Title.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/126579/2/S_ING_2005017_Chapter%201.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/126579/3/S_ING_2005017_Chapter%202.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/126579/4/S_ING_2005017_Chapter%203.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/126579/5/S_ING_2005017_Chapter%204.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/126579/6/S_ING_2005017_Chapter%205.pdf format: text language: en identifier: http://repository.upi.edu/126579/7/S_ING_2005017_Appendix.pdf identifier: Mutiara Elsa Putri, - (2024) THE STRUCTURAL MOVES OF HIGHLY-CITED BIOCHEMISTRY RESEARCH ARTICLES: A GENRE ANALYSIS.
