abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan dan mendeskripsikan humor dalam komik “Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof“ 1 karya Sarah Burrini. Penelirtian ini menggunakan teori pembentukan humor menurut Berger dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Setiap analisis humor dikategorikan menurut medianya, dengan memahami medianya, kategori humor dari media yang diteliti dapat dikerucutkan menjadi kategori utama dan kategori sekunder. Dari itu, teknik pembentukan humor juga dapat dikerucutkan; teknik utama dari kategori utama suatu media dan teknik sekunder dari kategori-kategori sekundernya. Naratif dari komik “Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof“ bersifat character-driven narative. Artinya humor pada komik “Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof“ menggunakan kategori utama Identity, dengan tiga teknik utama yang diteliti, Eccentricity, Embarassment, dan Expossure. Kategori lainnya dilihat dari kecocokan kategori tersebut pada media komik, masing-masing dipilih tiga teknik, kecuali kategori Action dengan teknik Slapstick. Hasil dari penelitian tersebut ditemukan bahwa ada dari ketiga ditemukan bahwa “Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof“ mayoritas menggunakan teknik embarassment dari kategori utama identity. Untuk teknik sekunder, Burrini memanfaatkan teknik Theme/Variation dari kategori sekunder Logic.
The purpose of this study is to understand the humor within a comic titled "Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof" volume one by Sarah Burrini.  This research uses Berger's theory of humor with the descriptive qualitative method. In Berger's theory of humor there are 4 types of categories of humor which is: language, logic, identity, and action. Each of humor is categorized according to the medium of the humor that is being use. The category of the medium is the category of the main category of the humor. The other category outside the main Category of humor is the sub category; the category of humor used to help the main category. The four categories of humor by each have its own techniques within them.  The narrative of the comic “Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof” is "character-driven narrative". This means that the humor in the comic “Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof” uses the main category of "identity" and with the three main techniques used are "eccentricity", "embarassment", and "expossure". The sub category techniques are picked when the techniques are related to the content being used. The results of the study found that of the three of main techniques, “Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof” mostly used the technique "embarassment" from the main category of "identity". For the sub technique, Burrini the majority used the "themes and variantion" technique from the sub category of "logic"
