Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran MURDER (Mood, Understand, Recall, Digest, Expand, Review) lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran direct instruction, 2) Pencapaian suasana hati siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran MURDER (Mood, Understand, Recall, Digest, Expand, Review) lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran direct instruction. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan bentuk desain the non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI di salah satu SMA Negeri Kota Bandung, sedangkan untuk sampel penelitian adalah dua kelas dari populasi tersebut. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dan angket suasana hati. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 1) Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran MURDER lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran direct instruction, 2) Pencapaian suasana hati siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran MURDER tidak lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran direct instruction. This study was motivated by the importance of the ability to understand mathematical concepts which is the basis and important stages in the process of learning mathematics meaningfully and the fact that the ability to understand mathematical concepts is still low in high school students. This study aims to determine 1) The improvement of mathematical concept understanding ability of students who get MURDER (Mood, Understand, Recall, Digest, Expand, Review) is higher than students who obtain direct instruction learning model, 2) The achievement of students' mood who obtain MURDER (Mood, Understand, Recall, Digest, Expand, Review) learning model is better than students who obtain direct instruction learning model. The method used in this research is quasi-experiment with the non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all grade XI students in one of the Bandung City Public High Schools., while the research samples were two classes from the population. The research data were obtained from the students' mathematical concept understanding ability test and mood questionnaire.
