Menghadapi perubahan zaman di latar belakangi karena rendahnya sikap keagamaan peserta didik di lingkungan rumah dan sekolah yang disebabkan oleh luasnya pengaruh negatif dari adat warga asing terhadap kemajuan perilaku dan sikap religius peserta didik, dan juga perkembangan zaman yang mengarah kepada nilai negatif. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses pelaksanaan pembinaan nilai karakter religius melalui pembiasaan membaca Al-Qur’an, serta implikasi dari kegiatan tersebut terhadap pembinaan karakter religius siswa SDN Sumur Lubang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV beserta wali kelasnya, Guru PAI, dan Kepala Sekolah SDN Sumur Lubang. Dalam pengumpulan data penelitian ini, peneliti melakukan observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner tertutup. Pada pengisian kuesioner ini terdapat 35 responden yang mana subjeknya adalah kelas IV. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa proses pelaksanaan kegiatan pembiasaan membaca Al-Qur’an dilaksanakan setiap hari sebelum memulai kegiatan pembelajaran, dan dilaksanakan dari kelas I-VI dengan tujuan untuk memberantas buta huruf pada siswa. Pada kelas IV, pembiasaan membaca Al-Qur’an ini dilaksanakan secara bergantian pada setiap harinya, apabila hari ini kegiatan pembiasaan menyanyikan lagu nasional indonesia, maka keesokan harinya maka kegiatan pembiasaan pembacaan Al-Qur’an, begitupun seterusnya. Implikasi pembiasaan membaca Al-Qur’an terhadap pembinaan karakter religius siswa yaitu siswa bisa menjadi kepribadian yang taat akan perintah Allah, menjauhi larangannya, dan juga melalui pembiasaan membaca Al-Qur’an ini dapat membuat jiwa serta pikiran kita lebih tenang. In this day and age, problems of moral degradation that occur in Indonesia are rampant, such as bullying, brawls, and so on. Facing changing times is due to the low level of religious attitudes of students in the home and school environment which is caused by the widespread negatif influence of foreign customs on the progress of students religious behavior and attitudes, as well as developments in the times that lead to negatif values. The aim of this research is to determine the process of implementing the development of religious character values through the habit of reading the Al-Qur’an, as well as the implications of this activity for the development of religious character of Sumur Lubang Elementary School students. This research uses a qualitative approach and case study method. The subjects of this research were grade IV students and their homeroom teachers, Islamic Education Teachers, and the Principal of SDN Sumur Lubang School. In collecting data for this research, researchers conducted observations, interviews and closed questionnaires. When filling out this questionnaire there were 35 respondents whose subjects were class IV. The results of this research found that the process of implementing Al-Qur’an reading habituation activities was carried out every day before starting learning activities, and was carried out from classes I-VI with the aim of eradicating illiteracy in students. In class IV, the habit of reading the Al-Qur’an is carried out alternately every day, if today the habitual activity is singing the Indonesian national song.
