Oleh karena itu, orang tua perlu memiliki kemampuan literasi yang baik, yaitu pada aspek membaca, menulis, dan memahami informasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi Gerakan Membaca Sepuluh Menit Sehari (GEMES) dalam menumbuhkan literasi baca tulis orang tua di Kelompok Bermain Karsa Mandiri, strategi implementasi yang diterapkan oleh orang tua, serta hambatan yang dihadapi oleh mereka. Kajian teori yang digunakan konsep pendidikan masyarakat, konsep literasi baca tulis, dan konsep pendidikan keluarga. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yakni pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian yakni orang tua, ketua pengelola program, dan guru. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa 1) pelaksanaan program GEMES di Kelompok Bermain Karsa Mandiri, mengacu pada aspek organisasi, interpretasi, dan aplikasi. 2) orang tua mengimplementasikan GEMES di rumah dengan memperhatikan aspek yang ada pada literasi keluarga, yakni jumlah dan variasi bahan bacaan, frekuensi membaca, jumlah bacaan yang dibaca, dan jumlah tulisan anggota keluarga. 3) hambatan orang tua dalam melaksanakan GEMES meliputi faktor internal, yakni kesehatan mental dan emosional orang dan faktor eksternal mencakup teknologi dan media sosial, dukungan dari lingkungan sosial, kendala finansial, dan pengaruh norma keluarga dan budaya. Kata kunci: Implementasi program GEMES, Literasi Baca Tulis, Orang Tua In the current context, there are still a number of parents who have limitations in reading and wrtiting literacy. Therefore, parents need to have good literacy skill, namely in the aspects of reading, writing and understanding information. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Ten Minutes a Day Reading Movements (GEMES) in fostering parent’s literacy in Kelompok Bermain Karsa Mandiri, the implementation strategies applied by parents and the obstacles faced bye them. Theoritical studies used the concept of community education, the concept of literacy, and the concept of family education. The research approach used was a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observations and documentation studies. The research subjects were parents, the head of the program manager and teachers. The results showed that 1) the implementation of the GEMES program at Playgroup Karsa Mandiri, refers to the aspects of organization, interpretation, and application. 2) parents implement GEMES at home by paring attention to the aspects of family literacy, namely the number and variety of reading materials, the frequency of reading, the amount of reading read, and the amount of writing by family members. 3) parent’s obstacles in implementing GEMES include internal factors, namely people’s mental and emotional health and external factors including technology and social media, support from the social environment, financial constraints, and the influence of family and cultural norms.
