Etnokoreologi digunakan sebagai pisau dalam menganalisis dan mengkaji Tari Buai-Buai dari segi teks dan konteks, serta melihat faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya.Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma kualitatif dengan metode komparatif dan pendekatan multidisiplin, dibantu dengan teori Perkembangan, dan Sosiologi tari digunakan untuk mengungkap perbandingan pada tari Buai-Buai.Hasil penelitian ini yakni Perbedaan dan persamaan disebabkan oleh faktor Geografis, Sosiologis, Filosofis, dan Estetis.    Kata Kunci : Perbandingan, Tari Buai-Buai, Etnokoreologi    ABSTRACT      This study aims to examine the comparison of the Buai-Buai dance at the Bujang Saiyo studio, Pesisir Selatan District and the Palito Nyalo studio, Padang City. Ethnochoreology is used as a knife in analyzing and studying the Buai-Buai Dance in terms of text and context and looking at the factors that influence it. This study uses a qualitative paradigm with a comparative method and a multidisciplinary approach, assisted by developmental, and dance sociology theories used to reveal comparisons in the Buai-Buai dance. The results of this study are the differences and similarities caused by geographical, sociological, philosophical, and aesthetic factors.     Keywords :Comparison, Buai-Buai dance, Etnochoreology
