The study used a descriptive qualitative approach framed in a semiotic analysis: Barthes’ orders of signification to analyze the denotative and connotative meanings, myths and connected it to the lyrics’ story to analyze the general themes of Kerispatih’s songs, Tak Lekang oleh Waktu album. In this research, the data were taken from Kerispatih’s song lyrics, Tak Lekang oleh Waktu album released on May 21, 2008. This album consists of twelve songs. The findings reveal that there were 21 metaphorical symbols, 21 denotative meanings, 21 connotative meanings, 21 myths and 12 general themes found in the song lyrics, Tak Lekang oleh Waktu album. The conclusion is that the figurative phrases were constructed through the metaphorical symbols and their denotative and connotative meanings and also myths. Love was the dominant connotative meaning (5 items or 23,8%) and hope was the dominant general theme (3 items or 25% ) in Kerispatih’s song lyrics. Future researchers are suggested that they should employ other semiotic theories which can support the analyses of the study in order to give different perspectives about the meanings of the song lyrics.
