Buku teks biologi Kurikulum 2013 dan Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar menjadi objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan variasi jenis gambar dalam buku teks yang mendukung berbagai konten pembelajaran. Ilustrasi dan diagram menggambarkan proses biologis yang kompleks, sedangkan foto-foto memberikan contoh nyata konsep biologi. Gambar-gambar ini diintegrasikan dengan teks dan berfungsi sebagai alat bantu visual dalam menjelaskan materi pembelajaran. Buku Kurikulum 2013 memiliki 209 preposisi mikro dan 23 gambar terkait materi virus, sedangkan buku IPA Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar memiliki 82 preposisi mikro dan 11 gambar serupa.Penelitian ini memberikan panduan berharga bagi penerbit dan penulis buku teks untuk memahami cara efektif menggunakan gambar dalam mendukung pembelajaran biologi di tingkat SMA.\r\nKata Kunci: Analisis teks, Representasi visual, Buku Teks Biologi, Proposisi Mikro dan Makro. \r\n\r\nThis study analyzes text and  the representation of images in biology textbooks for Grade X in high schools, particularly focusing on the topic of viruses. Images in textbooks play a vital role in comprehending biological concepts and enhancing effective learning. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The biology textbooks of Curriculum 2013 and Curriculum \"Merdeka Belajar\" serve as the subjects of this study.\r\nThe findings reveal diverse types of images in the textbooks that support various learning contents. Illustrations and diagrams depict complex biological processes, while photographs provide real-life examples of biological concepts. These images are integrated with the text and function as visual aids in explaining the learning materials.\r\nCurriculum 2013 textbook contains 209 micro-propositions and 23 images related to the topic of viruses, while the Curriculum \"Merdeka Belajar\" IPA book includes 82 micro-propositions and 11 similar images.This research provides valuable guidance for publishers and textbook authors to understand effective ways of using images to support biology learning at the high school level.\r\n\r\nKeywords: Analysis of Teks, Representation Visual, Biology Textbooks, Micro and Macro Propositions."^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
