Abstract

Pulau Merak Kecil dikenal sebagai destinasi wisata dengan keindahan pantainya, menciptakan suasana yang sangat menyenangkan bagi pengunjung yang ingin bersantai setelah sibuk beraktivitas. Kondisi aktivitas wisata pulau ini cukup ramai, terutama pada akhir pekan. Pengunjung bisa melihat lalu lalang kapal dan kapal feri, melakukan aktivitas pantai seperti bermain di pasir putih, berenang di laut, memancing, aktivitas penyeberangan kapal wisata dan keliling sekitar Perairan Pulau Merak Kecil dengan speed boat. Terkait hal ini, akan memiliki potensi yang mempengaruhi kondisi lingkungan Pulau Merak Kecil terutama kesuburan perairan. Kesuburan suatu perairan dipengaruhi oleh nutrien (nitrat, nitrit, fosfat) dan klorofil-a. Produktivitas primer dapat diukur untuk mengindikasikan status kesuburan dalam perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan nitrat, nitrit, fosfat dan status kesuburan perairan Pulau Merak Kecil serta hubungan antara nitrat, nitrit, fosfat terhadap klorofil-a. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dan pemilihan lokasi pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Sampel air dianalisis di Balai Pengujian Kesehatan Ikan dan Lingkungan (BPKIL) Serang, Banten dan klorofil-a berdasarkan teknik penginderaan jauh. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kandungan nitrat berdasarkan Lampiran VIII PP No. 22 Tahun 2021 melebihi baku mutu, namun fosfat tidak terdeteksi. Kandungan nitrit berdasarkan ANZECC & ARMCANZ (2000) tidak terdeteksi. Kesuburan perairan berdasarkan nitrat dalam kategori oligotrofik dan klorofil-a tergolong dalam kategori oligo-mesotrofik. Hubungan antara nutrien terhadap klorofil-a dipengaruhi oleh nitrat. Secara keseluruhan perairan di Pulau Merak Kecil termasuk dalam kategori perairan dengan status kesuburan sedang (mesotrofik) karena masih ada indikasi terumbu karang. Merak Kecil Island is known as a tourist destination because of its beautiful beaches, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for visitors who want to relax after their activities. The island's tourist activity conditions are quite crowded, especially on weekends. Visitors can see boats and ferries, do beach activities such as playing on the white sand, swimming in the sea, fishing, cruising, and traveling around Merak Kecil Islands waters using a speed boat. In connection with this, it could affect Merak Kecil Island's environmental conditions, especially its waters' fertility. The fertility of a water body is influenced by nutrients (nitrate, nitrite, phosphate) and chlorophyll-a. Primary productivity can be measured to show the status of water fertility. This study aims to determine the nitrate, nitrite, phosphate content and the fertility status of the waters of the Merak Kecil Islands and the relationship between nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and chlorophyll-a. The research method used a quantitative descriptive method and the selection of sampling locations using purposive sampling. Water samples were analyzed at the Fish Health and Environmental Testing Center (BPKIL) Serang, Banten and chlorophyll-a based on remote sensing techniques. The results showed that the nitrate content according to Appendix VIII of PP No. 22 of 2021 exceeded the quality standard, but no phosphate was detected. Nitrite according to ANZECC & ARMCANZ (2000) was not detected. Water fertility based on nitrate is included in the oligotrophic category and chlorophyll-a is included in the oligo-mesotrophic category. Overall, the waters of Pulau Merak Kecil fall into the category of waters with moderate fertility status (mesotrophic) because there are still indications of coral reefs.
