Abstract
The Cikadal mangrove forest area is part of the Ciletuh-Palabuhan Ratu Geopark in Mandrajaya Village with an area of 5 ha of mangrove forest. However, the mangrove forest area has been degraded, thereby reducing the quality of the function of the mangrove forest. The solution to overcome these problems is by carrying out reforestation and also community participation in preserving mangrove areas. The purpose of this study was to determine the type and diversity of mangroves and community participation in the Ciletuh-Palabuhan Ratu Geopark tourist area. The method used in the analysis of mangrove vegetation is the Point Centered Quarter Method which includes density, dominance, relative dominance, frequency, and relative frequency. Data related to community participation was obtained through interviews, questionnaires and secondary data. The results showed that there were two types of mangroves in the four research stations, namely Avicinnea officinalis and Rhizophora apiculata. The results of the Important Value Index (INP) for the four stats with the highest score being 182.7, namely R. apiculata, while for A. officinalis was 117.3. The results of the species richness index and diversity index were low, while the evenness index was moderate. Community participation shows that people's knowledge of the importance of preserving mangrove forests has experienced good changes.
