Abstract

Salah satu ikan hias yang digemari masyarakat adalah ikan cupang (Betta sp.). Ikan cupang jantan memiliki warna yang menarik. Produksi ikan cupang jantan dengan penerapan maskulinisasi akan memberikan keuntungan lebih tinggi bagi pembudidaya. Maskulinisasi dapat menggunakan hormon sintetik, namun penggunaan hormon sintetik sudah dilarang dalam kegiatan budidaya perikanan karena memiliki dampak merusak bagi ikan dan lingkungan sehingga diperlukan bahan alternatif alami, salah satunya madu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui perendaman burayak ikan cupang menggunakan madu tikung terhadap persentase jumlah ikan cupang jantan dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup burayak ikan cupang selama perendaman. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap 5 perlakuan (P0, P1, P2, P3, P4) dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan P0 (kontrol) merupakan perlakuan tanpa perendaman madu tikung. Perlakuan P1, P2, P3, dan P4 merupakan perlakuan perendaman madu tikung dengan dosis masing-masing 5, 7, 9 dan 11 ml/L. Perlakuan P2 mendapatkan persentase ikan cupang tertinggi mencapai 67.88±10.65% (P<0.05) dan kelangsungan hidup selama perendaman tiap perlakuan diatas 90%. Perendaman burayak ikan cupang menggunakan madu tikung berpengaruh terhadap persentase jumlah ikan cupang jantan dan penggunaan madu tikung sebagai bahan perendaman mendapatkan persentase tingkat kelangsungan hidup yang baik. One of the popular ornamental fish among the community is the betta fish (Betta sp.). Male betta fish have attractive colors. The production of male betta fish through masculinization techniques offers higher profits for breeders. However, the use of synthetic hormones for masculinization is prohibited in fisheries cultivation due to its detrimental effects on fish and the environment, hence the need for natural alternative substances, one of which is tikung honey. The objective of this research was to determine the immersion of betta fish fry in tikung honey on the percentage of male betta fish and the survival rate of fry during immersion. The study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design consisting of 5 treatments (P0, P1, P2, P3, P4) and 3 replications. Treatment P0 (control) was the treatment without immersion in tikung honey. Treatments P1, P2, P3, and P4 were the treatments involving immersion in tikung honey at doses of 5, 7, 9, and 11 ml/L, respectively. Treatment P2 obtained the highest percentage of betta fish, reaching 67.88±10.65% (P<0.05), and the survival rate during immersion exceeded 90% in all treatments. The immersion of betta fish fry in tikung honey influenced the percentage of male betta fish, and the use of tikung honey as an immersion substance achieved a good survival rate.
