Abstract
Pembelajaran PKn berbasis multikultural menjadi kebutuhan bagi bangsa Indonesia yang ditandai oleh kemajemukan (pluralitas) dan keanekaragaman (heterogenitas), sebab multikultural pada dasarnya menekankan pada kesederajatan kebudayaan yang ada dalam sebuah lingkungan tidak terkecuali lingkungan SMA St Aloysius Bandung. Berkaitan dengan kondisi lingkungan sekolah yang demikian beragam, maka setiap warga negara (siswa) perlu memiliki nasionalisme yang mendukung terwujudnya NKRI yang multikultural. Maka PKn berbasis multikultural menjadi sebuah keharusan, karena menumbuhkan nasionalisme dalam diri siswa, tak bisa dicapai secara taken for granted atau trial and error. Sebaliknya harus diupayakan secara sistematis, programatis, integrated dan berkesinambungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus dan data-data diperoleh melalui teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, studi literatur dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa: 1) Proses PKn berbasis multikultural di SMA St. Aloysius Bandung berjalan efektif, ditandai dengan semakin meningkatnya pemahaman dan kerjasama diantara siswa serta berkembangnya kompetensi kewarganegaraan yang dimiliki oleh siswa sehingga mereka dapat menampilkan partisipasi yang efektif dan bermutu dalam berbagai dimensi kehidupannya sebagai warga negara. 2) Proses pembelajaran PKn berbasis multikultural yang dilakukan oleh guru di kelas, yang didukung oleh aktifitas siswa dalam berbagai kegiatan rutin khas SMA St Aloysius Bandung serta kegiatan ekstrakurikuler di sekolah, secara langsung telah menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai nasionalisme dan semangat kebangsaan pada diri siswa. 3) Tumbuhnya kesadaran akan adanya latar belakang yang berbeda atau beragam diantara siswa mendorong mereka untuk menunjukkan perilaku yang dilandasi oleh tingginya semangat nasionalisme dan budaya multikultural, saling menghormati dan menghargai antar sesama tanpa melihat perbedaan agama, suku, bangsa dan ras. 4) Proses PKn berbasis multikultural di SMA St Aloysius Bandung telah mengimplementasikan tiga aspek pendidikan multikultural yang meliputi an idea or concept, an educational reform movement, and a process (ide atau konsep, gerakan pembaruan pendidikan, dan proses), sehingga mampu memberikan prospek yang cerah bagi perkembangan PKn berbasis multikultural di persekolahan serta memberikan rangsangan untuk penginternalisasian nilai-nilai multikultural di kalangan masyarakat pada umumnya. Multicultural-based civic learning had been the needs for Indonesia people, was characterized by plurality and heterogeneity because basically multi culture emphasized on existing cultural equity in an environment, including SMA St. Aloysius Bandung. Related to various school environmental conditions, each citizen (student) should have nationalism that supported the realization of multicultural NKRI. Therefore, multicultural-based civic education should be a must because it grew nationalism of student himself or herself. It could not be reached by being taken for granted or trial and error. In contrast, it should be tried systematically, programmatically, integratedly and continually. This riset used qualitative approach by the method of case study and the data was gained through observation, in-depth interview, literature study and documentation study techniques. The findings of study stated that: 1) multicultural-based civic education process in SMA St. Aloysius Bandung had been going effectively, marked by more increased understanding and cooperation among students and the development of civic competence that the students had so that they could exhibit effective and qualified participation in various living dimension as a citizen. 2) multicultural-based civic learning process conducted by the teacher in the classroom, supported with students’ activity in various indigenous routine activities of SMA St. Aloysius Bandung and extracurricular activities at school, had directly internalized nationalism values and nationalism spirit of students. 3) The growth of awareness on the existence of different or various background among students had made them show attitude based on higher nationalism spirit and multicultural culture, respect each other without seeing religion, race, nation and ethnic differences. 4) The process of multicultural-based civic education in SMA St. Aloysius Banding had implemented three aspects of multicultural education involving an idea or concept, an education reform movement and a process, so that it could give bright prospect for the development of multicultural-based civic education in schools, and give stimulus to internalization of multicultural values in community generally.
