Abstract
Masalah yang menjadi kajian dari penelitian ini adalah mutu kinerja sekolah. Inti kajiannya difokuskan pada faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi mutu kinerja sekolah, meliputi kemampuan manajerial kepala sekolah dan manajemen berbasis sekolah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pokok masalah yang diungkap dalam penelitian ini adalah sejauhmana pengaruh kemampuan manajerial kepala sekolah melalui pelaksanaan manajemen berbasis sekolah terhadap mutu kinerja sekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif¬ kuntitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data angket skala lima kategori likert, terhadap 73 orang pembantu kepala sekolah (PKS) di SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Subang. Terdapat tiga hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu (1) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan kemampuan manajerial kepala sekolah terhadap mutu kinerja sekolah. (2) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan kemampuan manajerial kepala sekolah terhadap pelaksanaan manajemen berbasis sekolah.(3) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara kemampuna manajerial kepala sekolah, pelaksanaan manajemen berbasis sekolah terhadap mutu kinerja sekolah. Hasil penelitian memperoleh gambaran bahwa kemampuan manjerial kepala sekolah dan pelaksanaan manajemen berbasis sekolah di SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Subang berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap mutu kinerja sekolah. The question to be examined in this research is the quality of school performance. The focus of investigation is on the factors that have influence on quality of school performance, that consist of the principal of managerial skills and and school based management. Based on the notion, the main question is whether the principal of managerial skills and and school based management have some influences on quality of school performance. The method in this research is descriptive evaluative, using the Likert 5-categories questionnaire to 73 assistant principal in the junior high school at Subang district. The data technique used is Path Analysis Model. The model is used to identify the direct and indirect associative relation of the exogenous variables on the endogenous variable. The F-test and t-test is used for test significance. Based on the calculation, the results show: 1. The path coefficient from X1 to Y is 0,299. The t-value is 12,069. As a result of the =537;=0,05 the t-table is 2,000. The hypothetical proposition is accepted. It means that the principal of managerial skills has an influence of 25.34% on quality of school performance. 2. The path coefficient from X2 to Y is 0.2111. The t-value is 10,286. As a result of the =537;=0,05 the t-table is 3,125. The hypothetical proposition is accepted. It means that the school based management has an influence of 16,16 % on quality of school performance. 3. Based on F-test, the F-value is 110,315 and F-table is 3.125. It explains that the principal of managerial skills and and school based management have simultaneously influence of 75,9%. on quality of school performance. The rest, 24,1%, is determined by other variables that are not examined in this research.
