Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir logis sangat diperlukan untuk seseorang dalam memecahkan masalah termasuk dalam pembelajaran matematika. Pembelajaran matematika dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir logis. Namun, pembelajaran matematika di SD masih tergolong rendah dengan adanya data dari TIMSS pada tahun 2011 peserta didik Indonesia berada diperingkat 38 dari 42 negara yang menunjukkan salah satu kemampuan yang melibatkan berpikir logis. Pembelajaran matemtika yang seharusnya dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis matematik siswa, namun pada kenyataanya implikasi dari pembelajaran matematika masih menggunakan metode ceramah atau ekspositori yang lebih cenderung berfokus pada guru. Oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan pembelajaran yang berfokus pada siswa sehingg dapat mendorong siswa untuk berpikir logis. Dapat menggunakan model pembelajaran yang inovatif yaitu dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing berbantuan kontekstual yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis matematik siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membandingkan pengaruh model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing berbantuan kontekstual lebih baik dibanding dengan pembelajaran ekspositori. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini kuantitatif eksperimen quasi dengan mengambil kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan non tes. Tes terdiri dari Pre-test dan Post-test. Non-tes terdiri dari angket dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing berbantuan kontekstual sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis matematik siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari uji N-Gain yang menyatakan 77% siswa kelas eksperien meningkat setelah diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing berbantuan kontekstual sedangkan kelas kontrol memperoleh uji N-Gain sebesar 69% yang termasuk kategori cukup efektif. Dengan demikian model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing terhadap kemampuan berpikir logis matematik siswa lebih baik dibanding pembelajaran ekspositori. The ability to think logically is very necessary for someone to solve problems, including in learning mathematics. Learning mathematics can develop the ability to think logically. However, mathematics learning in elementary school is still relatively low with data from TIMSS in 2011, Indonesian students were ranked 38th out of 42 countries which showed one of the abilities that involved logical thinking. Mathematics learning should be able to improve students' mathematical logical thinking skills, but in reallity the implications of learning mathematics still use lecture or expository methods which tend to focus on the teacher. Therefore, learning that focuses on students is needed so that it can encourage students to think logically. Can use an innovative learning model, namely by using the contextual assisted Snowball Throwing learning model which is expected to improve students' mathematical logical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of contextually assisted Snowball Throwing learning models better than expository learning. The methodology used in this research is quasi-experimental quantitative by taking the experimental class and the control class. The research instruments used in this study were tests and non-tests. The test consists of a Pre-test and a Post-test. Non-test consists of questionnaires and observations. Based on the results of the research the contextually assisted Snowball Throwing learning model is very effective in improving students' mathematical logical thinking skills. This can be seen from the N-Gain test which stated that 77% of students in the experimental class improved after being treated with the contextually assisted Snowball Throwing learning model, while the control class obtained an N-Gain test of 69%, which is quite effective. This the Snowball Throwing learning model for students' mathematical logical thinking skills is better than expository learning.
