Abstract

Kondisi fisik dalam catur seringkali diacuhkan karena beberapa pemain catur sendiri tidak terlalu
mengetahui keunggulan dan manfaat kondisi fisik yang baik untuk performa dalam permainan
catur. Selain kondisi fisik, komponen penting dalam permainan catur adalah berpikir logis dan
analitis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui korelasi antara kondisi fisik dan
kecerdasan (IQ) dengan hasil pertandingan atlet catur PORPROV Kota Bandung 2022 baik secara
parsial maupun secara simultan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif
kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 12 orang responden
diambil dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini
menggunakan uji regresi dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa secara
parsial terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kondisi fisik terhadap hasil pertandingan atlet
catur PORPROV Kota Bandung serta terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara IQ terhadap hasil
pertandingan atlet catur PORPROV Kota Bandung. Sedangkan secara simultan terdapat
hubungan yang signifikan antara kondisi fisik dan IQ dengan hasil pertandingan atlet catur
PORPROV Kota Bandung dengan kontribusi sebesar 65,5% dan untuk sisanya dipengaruhi oleh
faktor lain yang tidak diteliti.

The physical condition in chess is often ignored because some chess players themselves do not
really know the advantages and benefits of good physical condition for performance in the game
of chess. Apart from physical condition, an important component in playing chess is logical and
analytical thinking. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between physical
condition and intelligence (IQ) with the results of the PORPROV chess athletes in Bandung City
2022, either partially or simultaneously. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive
method with a correlational type. The sample in this study were 12 respondents taken using the
total sampling technique. Testing the hypothesis in this study using the regression test and the
coefficient of determination. The results showed that partially there was significant relationship
between physical condition and the results of the matches of PORPROV chess athletes in Bandung
City,thus there was a significant relationship between IQ and the results of matches of PORPROV
chess athletes in Bandung City. While simultaneously there is a significant relationship between
physical condition and IQ with the results of the PORPROV chess athletes in Bandung City with
a contribution of 65.5% and for the rest it was influenced by other factors that are not studied.
