Abstract

Elementary school students still experience difficulties in the learning process and students' critical thinking skills. There are still many students who tend to memorize material rather than understand concepts. This happens because the models and media used by teachers are less varied. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the AIR (Auditory, Intellectual, Repetition) learning model assisted by video animation on learning outcomes and critical thinking skills of class VI students at SDN Cengkareng Timur 14 Pagi. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The data was collected using an instrument test. The results showed that the use of the AIR learning model assisted by video animation had an effect on learning outcomes and critical thinking skills of class VI students at SDN Cengkareng Timur 14 Pagi. This can be seen from the results of the hypothesis testing carried out by researchers on student learning outcomes in the experimental class (2-tailed) of 0.004 < 0.05 while the significant value of students' critical thinking skills (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05 with a significance level 5% stating that Ha1 and Ha2 are accepted. The conclusion of this study is that the AIR (Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition) learning model assisted by video animation is better used than conventional learning for learning outcomes and critical thinking skills of class VI students at SDN Cengkareng Timur 14 Pagi.
