Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi karena adanya masalah yang dihadapi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran menulis permulaan pada siswa kelas rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat mendeskripsikan jenis kesulitan menulis permulaan, faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan menulis permulaan, dan upaya serta peran guru dalam membimbing siswa yang mengalami kesulitan menulis permulaan di kelas 1 sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriftif kualitatif dengan partisipan 10 orang siswa. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ditemukan kesulitan menulis permulaan yang dialami siswa diantaranya siswa masih kesulitan dalam menulis bentuk huruf, ukuran huruf yang belum stabil, jarak spasi belum stabil, penulisan huruf yang belum sesuai, dan kesalahan dalam menulis huruf atau kata, diantaranya penggantian huruf, hilanganya huruf dan penambahan huruf pada sebuah kata. Faktor penyebab dari kesulitan menulis permulaan di antaranya minat dan motivasi belajar siswa yang rendah, kebiasaan belajar yang dilakukan siswa, dan kurangnya perhatian orang tua. Upaya dan peran guru dalam membimbing siswa yang mengalami kesulitan menulis permulaan diantaranya: selalu memberikan motivasi dan perhatian khusus kepada siswa yang berkesulitan menulis, mengingatkan anak yang lupa bentuk huruf dengan bentuk benda konkret, dan menggunakan media seperti buku cerita supaya pembelajaran lebih menarik bagi siswa yang berkesulitan menulis permulaan. ----- This research was motivated by the problems faced by students in the process of learning early writing in low-grade students. This study aims to be able to describe the types of difficulties in writing beginnings, factors that affect the difficulty of writing beginnings, and the efforts and roles of teachers in guiding students who have difficulty writing beginnings in grade 1 elementary school. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative with 10 students. Research data were obtained by observation techniques, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study found that the initial writing difficulties experienced by students included students still having difficulty writing letter shapes, unstable letter sizes, unstable spacing, inappropriate letter writing, and errors in writing letters or words, including letter replacement, loss of letters and addition of letters to a word. Contributing factors to the difficulty of writing beginnings include low student interest and motivation for learning, study habits that students make, and lack of parental attention. The teacher's efforts and role in guiding students who have difficulty writing the beginning include always give special motivation and attention to students who have difficulty writing, remind children who forget the shape of letters with the shape of concrete objects, and use media such as storybooks so that learning is more interesting for students who have difficulty writing the beginning.
