Abstract

Perancangan branding memiliki peranan penting untuk menciptakan sebuah citra yang baik. Hal ini pun mampu memberikan kesan yang baik bagi pengguna brand tersebut. Taman Kota Babakan Siliwangi sebagai salah satu ruang terbuka hijau di Bandung perlu melakukan perancangan branding dikarenakan dari sejak awal berdiri belum memiliki identitas branding baik dari segi visual meliputi logo, tipografi, ilustrasi, warna atau elemen branding lain yang merepresentasikan Taman Kota Babakan Siliwangi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat konsep branding dan merancang branding Taman Kota Babakan Siliwangi yang merepresentasikan Taman Kota Babakan Siliwangi serta menerapkan hasil perancangan ini pada berbagai media promosi yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan Taman Kota Babakan Siliwangi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan practice-led research, metode ini berfokus pada penciptaan karya dari mulai tahap persiapan, tahap mengimajinasi, tahap pengembangan imajinasi, tahap pengerjaan, tahap distribusi dan apresiasi hingga desain final. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan konsep branding yang mengusung kesan modern dan minimalis dari Babakan Siliwangi dengan tetap mempertahankan ciri khas utama Babakan Siliwangi yakni Forest Walk dan pepohonannya. Konsep tersebut kemudian dirancang menjadi unsur-unsur visual yang digunakan sebagai dasar dari perancangan identitas branding diantaranya, logo, ilustrasi, warna, tipografi, tagline, dan audio tagline yang merepresentasikan identitas Taman Kota Babakan Siliwangi Forest Walk Bandung. Hasil rancangan tersebut kemudian diimplementasikan menjadi beberapa objek seperti sign system, kartu nama, merchandise dan media promosi digital berupa feeds Instagram, dan website. Hasil perancangan ini pun telah didistribusikan kepada pihak DPKP3 Bandung dan mendapatkan apresiasi serta umpan balik yang positif baik dari pihak DPKP3 ataupun publik secara umum melalui interaksi pada media Instagram. ----- Branding design has an important role to create a good image. This is also able to give a good impression to users of the brand. Babakan Siliwangi City Park as one of the green open spaces in Bandung needs to create design branding because since its established it has not had a branding identity both in terms of visuals including logos, typography, illustrations, colors or other branding elements that represent Babakan Siliwangi City Park. The purpose of this research is to create a branding concept and design the branding of Babakan Siliwangi City Park which represents Babakan Siliwangi City Park and apply the results of this design to various promotional media that are tailored to the needs of Babakan Siliwangi City Park. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a practice-led research approach, this method focuses on the creation of work from the preparation stage, the imagination stage, the imagination development stage, the work stage, the distribution and appreciation stage to the final design. The results of this study resulted in a branding concept that carries the modern and minimalist impression of Babakan Siliwangi while still maintaining the main characteristics of Babakan Siliwangi, namely the Forest Walk and the trees. The concept is then designed into visual elements that are used as the basis for designing branding identities including logos, illustrations, colors, typography, taglines, and audio taglines that represent the identity of Babakan Siliwangi Forest Walk Bandung. The design results are then implemented into several objects such as sign systems, business cards, merchandise and digital promotional media in the form of Instagram feeds, and websites. The results of this design have also been distributed to DPKP3 Bandung and received appreciation and positive feedback from both the DPKP3 and the public in general through interaction on Instagram.
