Abstract

Meningkatnya penggunaan media sosial di kalangan anak muda berdampak negatif pada
kualitas hidupnya, namun sebaliknya apabila penggunaanya dilakukan secara bijak, media
sosial dapat memberikan dampak positif bagi penggunanya. Sehingga penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas intervensi media sosial berbasis teknologi audio visual
terhadap perilaku sedentari mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode
Eksperimental, dengan desain post-test only control group. Partisipan pada penelitian
berjumlah 41 mahasiswa aktif yang secara sukarela menjadi sampel penelitian, yang terbagi
menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen. Intervensi yang diberikan
adalah video motivasi aktivitas fisik melalui aplikasi TikTok selama satu minggu, sebanyak
3 video per hari. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrumen Accelometer Actigraph
WGT3X-BT, yang dipasang pada tubuh sampel selama 7x 24 jam. Hasil menunjukkan
bahwa rata-rata waktu sedentari kelompok kontrol 52,10861 dan kelompok eksperimen
51,73631 Pada hari kerja, sedangkan pada akhir pekan waktu sedentari kelompok kontrol
52,50122 dan kelompok eksperimen 51,14253. Perbedaan rata-rata waktu menetap antara
kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen diuji menggunakan Independent sampel t�test. Tedapat perbedaan waktu rata-rata sedentari pada hari kerja antar kelompok (0,868 >
0,05) namun tidak signifikan begitu pula pada akhir pekan (0,568 > 0,05). Hasil tersebut
menunjukkan penurunan perilaku sedentari pada mahasiswa yang mendapat intervensi,
namun tidak signifikan. Rekomendasi penelitian selanjutnya dalam pemberian intervensi
dan menentukan sampel dilakukan dengan jangka waktu yang lebih lama, sehingga hasil
lebih makasimal dan sampel yang diperoleh sesuai dengan kriteria yang dibutuhkan
penelitian

The increasing use of social media among young people has a negative impact on
their quality of life, but on the other hand, if used wisely, social media can have a
positive impact on its users. So this study aims to examine the effectiveness of
social media interventions based on audio-visual technology on students' sedentary
behavior. This study used an experimental method, with a posttest only control
group design. The research participants totaled 41 active students who voluntarily
became the research sample, which were divided into 2 groups, namely the control
and experimental groups. The intervention provided was in the form of physical
activity motivational videos through the TikTok application for one week as many
as 3 videos/day. Data collection was carried out using the Accelometer Actigraph
WGT3X-BT instrument attached to the sample body for 7x 24 hours. The results
showed that the average sitting time of the control group was 52.10861 and the
experimental group was 51.73631 on weekday, while on weekend the control group
was 52.50122 and the experimental group was 51.14253. The difference in between
the control and experimental groups was tested by the Independent sample t-test.
There is a difference in average sitting time on weekday between groups (0.868 >
0.05) but not significant, as well as on weekend (0.568 > 0.05). These results
indicate a decrease in sedentary behavior in students received the intervention, but
not significantly. Recommendation for further research in providing interventions
and determining samples are carried out with a longer period of time, so that the
results obtained are maximized and the samples obtained are in accordance with the
criteria needed by the research.
