Abstract

Tanpa disadari bahwa pendidikan menjadi salah satu aspek yang terdampak oleh perkembangan zaman yang berkembang kian pesat. Guna menghadapi tuntutan dan tantangan abad 21 ini, komunikasi menjadi salah satu keterampilan yang perlu dikuasai oleh seseorang dalam berinteraksi dan berkomunikasi, khususnya oleh seorang guru. Dimana penggunaan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi atau yang lebih dikenal dengan HOTS menjadi salah satu poin penting yang perlu dilakukan saat berkomunikasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif pendekatan studi kasus dengan menggunakan analisis data tematik. Hasil temuan di lapangan secara langsung menegaskan bahwa kemampuan guru berkomunikasi berbasi HOTS dipengaruhi oleh pemahamannya terhadap kurikulum PAUD dan kompetensi guru di khususkan pada kompetensi sosial yang mendukung guru dalam berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi dengan anak dan lingkungannya. Prosesnya, kemampuan bertanya guru, penggunaan kalimat 5 W 1 H menjadi dasar stimulasi yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengembangkan berpikir kritis anak. Penggunaan pertanyaan terbuka, difasilitasi oleh media pembelajaran yang sesuai serta kalimat yang menggugah untuk bertanya kembali menjadi bentuk komunikasi HOTS yang dilakukan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan terhadap perkembangan PAUD dalam metode dan strategi pembelajaran dalam kelas sebagai inovasi yang mampu menyesuaikan dalam setiap perkembangan zaman. Without our notice, education is becoming one of social aspects that is affected by current rapid development. In order to overcome with the demands and challenges in this 21st century, communication skills is required in interacting and communicating, especially for teachers. The usage of High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) became a necessity while communicating. This paper employs descriptive qualitative. The approach uses case study approach, and the analysis uses thematic data analysis. The findings have obviously shown that teacher's skill in communication with HOTS based is influenced by their comprehension about early childhood education curriculum and the teacher's competency, especially in social competency that supports the teacher in communicating and interacting with children and their environment. In the process, teachers' ability asking questions and the usage of 5 W 1 H (what, why, who, when, where, how) sentences is becoming motivation to increase children's critical thinking skills. There are three aspects formed as HOTS communication those are; the application of open-ended questions, the learning tools usage that are suitable, and the inquiry questions to give children the opportunity to ask questions in return. This research expected to have contribution to the development of early childhood education in methods and learning strategies at class as an innovation that can help children to adapt with the current development.
