Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti bagaimana komunikasi terapeutik yang dilakukan oleh psikolog dan konselor dengan klien traumatik kejahatan seksual di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak (UPTD PPA) Kota Bogor. Teori utama yang digunakan adalah teknik komunikasi terapeutik yang digagas oleh Stuart (2013) dan hubungan terapeutik oleh Sheldon (2010). Penelitian ini merupakan bentuk penelitian mendalam kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi yang digunakan praktisi seperti psikolog dan konselor sesuai dengan teknik komunikasi terapeutik pada umumnya. Namun dalam menghadapi klien traumatik dibutuhkan dorongan lebih agar mereka mau terbuka untuk membangun komunikasi. Hubungan yang tercipta seiring pertemuan konseling bersama klien juga mengikuti prinsip hubungan terapeutik. Adapun hambatan yang ditemukan dalam berkomunikasi terapeutik berasal dari faktor internal klien dan eksternal seperti intervensi keluarga serta lingkungannya. Kata Kunci: Komunikasi Interpersonal, Komunikasi Terapeutik, Hubungan Terapeutik, Trauma Seksual ABSTRACT This study aims to examine how therapeutic communication is carried out by psychologists and counselors with traumatic clients of sexual violence in the Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak (UPTD PPA) Kota Bogor. The main theory used are the therapeutic communication technique initiated by Stuart (2013) and the therapeutic relationship by Sheldon (2010). This research is a form of in-depth qualitative research with a case study method. Data collection was obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the communication used by practitioners such as psychologists and counselors is in accordance with therapeutic communication techniques in general. However, in dealing with traumatic clients, more encouragement is needed so that they are open to building communication. The connection that is occured in a counseling meeting with the client also follows the principle of a therapeutic relationship. Furthermore, the obstacles found in therapeutic communication come from internal and external factors; such as clients themselves, family, and environmental interventions.
