Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat berpikir van hiele pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar, mendeskripsikan kemampuan spasial siswa SMP, dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan spasial siswa SMP ditinjau berdasarkan tingkat berpikir van hiele pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan 25 siswa kelas IX SMP. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil tes dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan temuan dan analisis data, hasil penelitian menunjukan persentase tingkat berpikir van hiele pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar adalah tingkat visualisasi 52% (13 siswa), tingkat analisis 40% (10 siswa), dan tingkat abstraksi (pengurutan) 8% (2 siswa). Kemampuan spasial siswa smp kemampuan persepsi spasial 72%, visualisasi spasial 60%, rotasi mental 40%, hubungan spasial 56%, orientasi spasial 48%. Sebagian besar siswa dengan tingkat berpikir visualisasi sudah menguasi kemampuan persepsi spasial matematis dan kemampuan visualisasi spasial matematis, sebagian besar siswa pada tingkat berpikir visualisasi belum menguasi kemampuan rotasi mental, kemampuan hubungan spasial matematis, dan kemampuan orientasi spasial matematis. Kemudian hampir seluruhnya siswa pada tingkat berpikir analisis sudah menguasai kemampuan persepsi spasial matematis, setengah siswa pada tingkat berpikir analisis sudah menguasai kemampuan visualisasi spasial matematis, kemampuan rotasi mental, dan kemampuan orientasi spasial matematis, dan sebagian besar siswa pada tingkat berpikir analisis sudah menguasai kemampuan hubungan spasial matematis. Dan seluruh siswa pada tingkat berpikir abstraksi (pengurutan) sudah menguasai kemampuan persepsi spasial matematis, kemampuan visualisasi spasial matematis, kemampuan hubungan spasial matematis, dan kemampuan orientasi spasial matematis, dan setengah siswa pada tingkat berpikir abstraksi (pengurutan) sudah menguasai kemampuan rotasi mental. This research aims to describe van hiele’s level of thinking in the material of flat�sided three dimensional, describe the spatial abilities of junior high school students, and describing the spatial abilities of junior high school students in terms of van Hiele’s level of thinking in the material of flat-sided three dimensional. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. The subject of this research involved 25 students of 9th grade junior high school. The data obtained in the form of test results and interviews. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the findings and data analysis, the results shows that the percentage of van Hiele's level of thinking in flat-sided three dimensional material is visualization level of 52% (13 students), analysis level of 40% (10 students), and abstraction level (sequencing) of 8% (2 students). Spatial ability of junior high school students: spatial perception ability 72%, spatial visualization 60%, mental rotation 40%, spatial relationship 56%, spatial orientation 48%. Most of the students with visualization thinking level have mastered the ability of mathematical spatial perception and mathematical spatial visualization ability, most students at the level of visualization thinking have not mastered mental rotation skills, mathematical spatial relationship abilities, and mathematical spatial orientation abilities. almost all students at the level of analytical thinking have mastered the ability of mathematical spatial perception. Half of the students at the level of analytical thinking have mastered the ability of mathematical spatial visualization, mental rotation ability, and mathematical spatial orientation ability, and most students at the level of analytical thinking have mastered the ability of mathematical spatial relations. And all students at the level of abstract thinking (sequencing) have mastered the ability of mathematical spatial perception, mathematical spatial visualization ability, mathematical spatial relationship ability, and mathematical spatial orientation ability, half of the students at the level of abstraction (sequencing) thinking have mastered the mental rotation ability.
