Abstract
Salah satu dampak ketunarunguan dalam aspek kebahasaan adalah anak tunarungu memiliki kesulitan dalam menyusun kata menjadi kalimat yang padu. Hal tersebut berdampak pada pesan yang disampaikan tidak dapat dipahami oleh orang lain sehingga komunikasi tidak berjalan dengan efektif. Idealnya, peserta didik tunarungu jenjang SMALB telah memiliki kemampuan yang baik dalam menyusun pola kalimat SPOK sebab pembelajaran struktur kalimat telah diajarkan sejak peserta didik berada di jenjang SDLB. Kondisi empiris yang ditemukan, peserta didik tunarungu jenjang SMALB masih kesulitan dalam menentukan unsur-unsur pembentuk kalimat dan membuat kalimat utuh berpola SPOK (subjek, predikat, objek, keterangan). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode Fitzgerald Key terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membuat pola kalimat SPOK pada peserta didik tunarungu jenjang SMALB di SLB Gelora Karya Majalengka. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian berupa one group pre-test post-test. Adapun sampel penelitian adalah peserta didik tunarungu jenjang SMALB sebanyak lima orang. Berdasarkan hasil temuan data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Fitzgerald Key efektif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan menyusun pola kalimat SPOK pada peserta didik tunarungu jenjang SMALB. Berdasarkan perhitungan efektivitas diperoleh presentase sebesar 80% dengan indeks efektivitas tinggi. Tolok ukur peningkatan kemampuan menyusun pola kalimat SPOK diantaranya peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan peserta didik dalam menentukan unsur pembentuk kalimat SPOK sebesar 73% dan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan peserta didik dalam membuat kalimat utuh berpola SPOK sebesar 83%. Maka metode Fitzgerald Key dapat direkomendasikan kepada guru dalam pembelajaran membuat kalimat berpola SPOK pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia bagi peserta didik tunarungu di sekolah dan dilakukan secara konsisten. This has an impact on the message conveyed which cannot be understood by other people so that communication does not work effectively. Ideally, deaf students at the SMALB level have good skills in composing SPOK sentence patterns because learning sentence structures has been taught since students were at the SDLB level. The empirical conditions found were that deaf students at the SMALB level still had difficulty determining the elements of a sentence and making complete sentences with the SPOK pattern (subject, predicate, object, description). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Fitzgerald Key method for improving the ability to make SPOK sentence patterns in deaf students at SMALB level at SLB Gelora Karya Majalengka. The research method used was pre-experimental with the research design in the form of one group pre-test post-test. The research sample was five deaf students at SMALB level. Based on the findings of the data and discussion, it can be concluded that the Fitzgerald Key method is effective in increasing the ability to compose SPOK sentence patterns in deaf students at the SMALB level. Based on the calculation of effectiveness obtained a percentage of 80% with a high effectiveness index. The benchmarks for improving the ability to compose SPOK sentence patterns include a significant increase in the ability of students to determine the elements forming SPOK sentences by 73% and a significant increase in the ability of students to compose complete sentences with SPOK patterns by 83%. So the Fitzgerald Key method can be recommended to teachers in learning to make SPOK-patterned sentences in Indonesian for deaf students at school and to do it consistently.
