Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah Learning Obstacles dalam kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 2 Sekolah Dasar. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 6 (enam) siswa, 2 (dua) orang siswa laki-laki dan 4 (empat) orang siswa perempuan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan kemampuan membaca permulaan, kemudian dianalisis jenis learning obstacles (hambatan belajar) yang terdapat dalam kemampuan membaca permulaan tersebut. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Siswa kelas 2 SDN 1 NagriKidul memiliki kemampuan yang bervariasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa cukup lancar membaca dalam aspek mengenal kata, analisis kata, dan kosakata, sedangkan untuk aspek membaca lancar dan memahami bacaan menunjukkan bahwa siswa kurang lancar membaca. Hal ini terjadi karena siswa masih mengalami hambatan membaca dalam bentuk kalimat maupun paragraf. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa mengalami Epistemological learning obstacles yang disebabkan karena adanya keterbatasan dalam hal pemahaman, pengetahuan, dan penguasaan siswa tentang suatu konsep. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan bahwa dalam melafalkan huruf, kata, serta dalam penulisan kata masih terdapat hambatan seperti adanya penambahan huruf, kurang bisa membedakan bentuk huruf, dan penghilangan huruf. Oleh karena itu siswa harus rajin latihan membaca agar bisa membedakan bentuk huruf sehingga pengucapan dan penulisan jelas. ----- The background of this research is because of the Learning Obstacles in the early reading ability of 2nd grade elementary school students. The design of this research is qualitative research with case study method. The research subjects consisted of 6 (six) students, 2 (two) male students and 4 (four) female students. The purpose of this study is to describe the initial reading ability, then analyze the types of learning obstacles contained in the initial reading ability. The instruments used are interviews, tests, and documentation. Grade 2 students of SDN 1 NagriKidul have varying abilities. The results showed that the students were quite fluent in reading in terms of word recognition, word analysis, and vocabulary, while for the aspects of fluent reading and reading comprehension, the students were less fluent in reading. This happens because students still have difficulty reading in the form of sentences and paragraphs. So it can be concluded that students experience epistemological learning obstacles caused by limitations in understanding, knowledge, and mastery of students about a concept. It can be proven that in pronouncing letters, words, and in writing words, there are still obstacles such as adding letters, being unable to distinguish letters, and omitting letters. Therefore, students must be diligent in reading practice in order to be able to distinguish the shape of the letters so that pronunciation and writing are clear.
