Abstract

Self-improvement pada dasarnya merupakan pengembangan diri yang sangat diperlukan dalam proses meningkatkan kepercayaan diri untuk mencapai aktualisasi diri. Manusia perlu membebaskan dirinya dari semua batasan yang mengahalangi untuk menjadi diri sendiri. Pembuatan karya ini untuk mengekspresikan keresahan penulis terhadap dirinya yang juga merupakan ungkapan terimakasih kepada diri penulis yang berani melawan segala ketakutan yang menghambat diri untuk berkembang. Tujuan karya ini bagi penulis untuk mencintai diri sendiri dan mengukur diri agar kebih baik serta diharapkan untuk masyarakat mampu menghadapi permasalahan diri dengan optimis dan semangat. Metode dalam pembuatan skripsi penciptaan ini menggunakan metode Eksplorasi, Improvisasi dan Pembentukan. Pemilihan penggayaan Surealisme tidak terlepas dari pengalaman penulis semasa perkuliahan seni lukis di Departemen Pendidikan Seni Rupa dengan mengapropiasi karya seniman surealisme, Afarin Sajedi. Pemilihan warna objek menggunakan warna panas dan dingin dengan background warna hitam. Penulis membuat karya berdasarkan keresahan pribadi. Diharapkan dapat menyampaikan pesan moral dan nilai kehidupan penulis sendiri maupun masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Seni Lukis, Self-Improvement, Surealisme Self-improvement is basically a self-development that is needed in the process of increasing self-confidence to achieve self-actualization. Humans need to free themselves from all the limitations that prevent them from being themselves. The creation of this work is to express the author's anxiety towards herself which is also an expression of gratitude to the author who dares to fight all the fears that prevent her from developing. The purpose of this work is for the author to love himself and measure herself to be better and it is hoped that the community will be able to face their own problems with optimism and enthusiasm. The method in making this creation thesis uses the method of Exploration, Improvisation and Formation. The choice of Surrealism style is inseparable from the author's experience during painting lectures at the Department of Fine Arts Education by adapting the work of Surrealist artist, Afarin Sajedi. The object color selection uses hot and cold colors with a black background. The author makes work based on personal concerns. It is hoped that it can convey the moral message and values of the author's own life and society. Keyword: Painting, Self-Improvement, Surrealism
