Abstract

ABTRAK Penelitian berjudul “Metode Imitasi Sebagai Strategi Belajar Mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Musik UPI dalam Spesialisasi Vokal Barat” ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan metode yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa dan alasan metode tersebut digunakan dalam mempelajari suatu materi lagu serta untuk mengetahui hasil yang dipertunjukkan oleh mahasiwa pada penilaian akhir dengan penerapan metode tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara pengumpulan data melalui survei menggunakan kuisioner, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Adapun subjek penelitian yang menjadi sumber utama dalam penelitian ini yaitu tiga mahasiswa spesialisasi Vokal Barat Angkatan 2020. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, materi lagu yang dipelajari oleh ke tiga mahasiswa spesialisasi vokal barat berbeda-beda serta memiliki kesesuaian dan tantangan tersendiri. Penerapan metode imitasi yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa diawali dengan cara mencari referensi materi lagu yang sesuai melalui youtube, kemudian mahasiswa mendengarkan serta mengamati audio/video lagu tersebut secara berulang-ulang. Hasil dari penerapan metode imitasi yang dipertunjukkan oleh mahasiswa pada penilaian akhir memiliki ketidaksesuaian dengan notasi dari materi lagu yang telah ada. Kata Kunci: Metode Imitasi, Mahasiswa Vokal Barat, Materi Lagu. ABTRACT The research entitled "Imitation Method as a Student Learning Strategy of UPI Music Education Study Program in Vocal Barat Specialization" aims to describe the method used by students and the reasons for the method used in studying a song material and to find out the results shown by students in the final assessment by applying the method. The research method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The data obtained in this study was carried out by collecting data through surveys using questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects who became the main sources in this study were three students of the Vocal Barat Specialization Class of 2020. Based on the results of the research that had been carried out, the song material studied by the three students of the Vocal Barat Specialization was different and had its own suitability and challenges. The application of the imitation method carried out by students begins by looking for appropriate song material references through YouTube, then students listen and observe the audio/video of the song repeatedly. The results of the application of the imitation method shown by students at the final assessment had a discrepancy with the notation of the existing song material.
