Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of availability of interesting learning media for students and teachers only rely on thematic books as support. This causes the learning of collage art at the school to be monotonous. Another problem is that until now, knowledge about Batik has not been conveyed so students have minimal knowledge about various kinds of Indonesian batik motifs. Therefore, the Pop-up book medium can be used as an interesting learning medium to overcome these problems. The purpose of this study is to develop and determine the feasibility of the KOMOBA Pop-up book medium to facilitate learning of batik motif collage artwork in elementary schools, especially for fourth-grade students. The research method used in this study is Design and Development (D&D) with a PPE model consisting of three stages, namely planning, development, and evaluation. The feasibility of the KOMOBA Pop-up book media was obtained from the validation results of material experts, media experts, and learning practitioners. The KOMOBA pop-up book medium received an average score of 98.64% in the "Very Eligible" category. In addition, based on the results of a limited trial and interviews with students, it was found that the KOMOBA Pop-up Book medium is very interesting because it has various patterns and materials of seeds. Based on these data, the KOMOBA Pop-up book medium that was developed is very suitable to be used to facilitate learning of batik motif collage art in elementary schools.
