Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui secara komperhensif peningkatan keterampilan literasi sains siswa kelas V sekolah dasar pada materi siklus air menggunakan model pembelajaran read, answer, discuss, explain, and create (RADEC). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pre-experiment. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V sekolah dasar di Kota Bandung yang berjumlah 100 siswa. Instrumen pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes, angket, wawancara, dan observasi. Adapun teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistika berupa deskriptif (persentase, rata-rata, dan standar deviase), dan inferensial (perbedaan rerata menggunakan uji-t). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa skor α sebesar 0,000 yang berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan rerata skor keterampilan literasi sains siswa pada materi siklus air sebelum dan sesudah diberikan model RADEC. Hal ini juga dapat terlihat dari peningkatan (N-Gain) skor keterampilan literasi sains yaitu sebesar 0,48 atau peningkatannya dalam kategori sedang. Secara keseluruhan tahapan pada model pembelajaran RADEC yaitu read, answer, discuss, explain, and create dapat terlaksana dengan sangat baik. Dalam pelaksanaan model RADEC khususnya pada tahap read dan answer ini perlu melibatkan berbagai sumber, informasi dan referensi. Selain itu, makna read disini bukan hanya terbatas pada bacaan tulisan saja, tetapi lebih luas daripada itu yaitu mengakses dan menyaring suatu informasi. Pada tahap discuss penyajian masalahnya harus berbeda dengan ulangan, hal ini tentu akan memberikan fenomena situasi baru terhadap masalah yang harus dipecahkan oleh siswa. Pada tahap create, ini melibatkan beberapa hal yang diamati seperti kognitif maupun psikomotorik, artinya penilaian pada tahap create ini harus mencakup beberapa aspek tersebut sehingga ini menjadi penilaian yang komperhensif. This study aims to find out comprehensively the improvement of science literacy skills of fifth grade elementary school students on water cycle material using the read, answer, discuss, explain, and create (RADEC) learning model. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experiment method. The subjects in this study were the fifth grade elementary school students in the city of Bandung, totaling 100 students. The instruments in this study used tests, questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The data analysis technique uses statistical analysis in the form of descriptive (percentage, average, and standard deviation), and inferential (difference in mean using t-test). The results of this study indicate that the score is 0.000 which means that there is a difference in the mean score of students' scientific literacy skills on the water cycle material before and after being given the RADEC model. This can also be seen from the increase (N-Gain) of the science literacy skill score, which is 0.48 or an increase in the medium category. Overall, the stages in the RADEC learning model, namely read, answer, discuss, explain, and create, can be carried out very well. In the implementation of the RADEC model, especially at the read and answer stages, it is necessary to involve various sources, information and references. In addition, the meaning of read here is not only limited to written reading, but is broader than that, namely accessing and filtering information. At the discussion stage, the presentation of the problem must be different from the test, this will certainly provide a new situation phenomenon to the problem that must be solved by students. At the create stage, this involves several things that are observed such as cognitive and psychomotor, meaning that the assessment at this create stage must cover several of these aspects so that this becomes a comprehensive assessment.
