Abstract

ABSTRAK Ikhsan Faturohman, Tesis, 2022, Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis Siswa yang Bergaya Kognitif Field Dependent dan Independent dalam Memecahkan Masalah Bangun Datar. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh beberapa hasil penelitian terdahulu yang menunjukkan bahwa salah satu faktor rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematis yaitu rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kreatif dalam setiap pemecahan. Perlu upaya untuk menganalisis proses berpikir kreatif siswa dalam setiap pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari gaya kognitif siswa dalam menerima stimulus yang diberikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam memecahkan masalah bangun datar berdasarkan gaya kognitif field dependent, dan independent. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan desain penelitian fenomenologi. Subjek penelitian yaitu 4 siswa SMP, terdiri dari 2 siswa field dependent dan 2 siswa field independent yang diukur dengan Group Embedded Figure Test. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan sebagai alat pengumpul data berupa observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa field dependent dalam memecahkan masalah matematis berada pada kategori sedang, dimana dalam memecahkan masalah pada tahap menyusun rencana cenderung sedang, tahap mengerjakan cenderung tinggi, dan cenderung kurang memeriksa kembali hasil pekerjaan. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa field independent dalam memecahkan masalah cenderung tinggi, dimana pemecahan masalah pada tahap menyusun rencana cenderung tinggi, tahap mengerjakan cenderung tinggi, dan cenderung memeriksa kembali hasil pekerjaan. This research is motivated by several previous research results which show that one of the factors of the low ability of students to solve mathematical problems is the low ability to think creatively in each solution. Efforts are needed to analyze students' creative thinking processes in solving problems in terms of students' cognitive style in receiving the given stimulus. The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe students' creative thinking skills in solving flat-shaped problems based on field dependent and independent cognitive styles. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach, with a phenomenological research design. The research subjects were 4 junior high school students, consisting of 2 field dependent students and 2 field independent students as measured by the Group Embedded Figure Test. The research instrument used as a data collection tool is in the form of observations, tests, and interviews. The results showed that the creative thinking skills of field dependent students in solving mathematical problems were in the medium category, where in solving problems at the planning stage tended to be moderate, the working stage tended to be high, and tended to be less likely to re-examine the work. The creative thinking ability of field independent students in solving problems tends to be high, where problem solving at the planning stage tends to be high, the working stage tends to be high, and tends to re-examine the results of the work.
