Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model pembelajaran inkuiri menggunakan analogi dan pemetaan analogi pada konsep listrik-magnet. Pengembangan model pembelajaran inkuiri menggunakan analogi dimaksudkan untuk mengatasi kesulitan mahasiswa dan dosen dalam pembelajaran konsep abstrak listrik-magnet, serta untuk membekalkan kemampuan beranalogi calon guru fisika. Pemetaan analogi diperlukan untuk mendukung penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri menggunakan analogi pada konsep listrik-magnet. Penelitian awal dilakukan di empat program studi pendidikan fisika LPTK di Jawa dan Sumatra. Hasil studi awal menemukan bahwa aktivitas inkuiri dalam perkuliahan listrik-magnet rendah dan menemukan adanya penggunaan analogi dalam setiap perkuliahan listrik-magnet yang muncul secara spontan, serta menemukan dua pola penggunaan analogi dalam perkuliahan listrik-magnet. Berdasarkan data awal tersebut dikembangkan model pembelajaran inkuiri menggunakan analogi dan pemetaan analogi. Model pembelajaran dan pemetaan analogi tersebut diuji coba pada skala terbatas dan uji lapangan pada perkuliahan listrik-magnet di program studi pendidikan fisika LPTK. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui metode dokumentasi, observasi, kuesioner, wawancara dan metode tes. Pengolahan data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Pengolahan data kualitatif meliputi: transkripsi, tabulasi, pengkodean, dan deskripsi sesuai dengan fokus penelitian. Data kuantitatif diolah menggunakan N-gain terhadap hasil tes awal dan tes akhir, dan hasil pemetaan analogi mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah uji lapangan. Hasil penelitian ini meliputi: model pembelajaran inkuiri menggunakan analogi dengan sintaks: (1) mengamati fenomena domain dasar dan domain target, (2) merumuskan masalah berkaitan analogi kedua domain, (3) melakukan analisis terhadap hubungan analogi antara kedua domain, (4) merumuskan hipotesis mengenai kesesuaian dan perbedaan kedua domain, (5) menguji hipotesis dan mengumpulkan data, (6) melakukan interpretasi dan menjawab pertanyaan, (7) menyimpulkan dan menyampaikan hasil analogi serta implikasinya, model pembelajaran inkuiri menggunakan analogi dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep listrik-magnet (N-gain = 54%) dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan beranalogi (N-gain = 56%) calon guru fisika, serta menghasilkan 21 pasang pemetaan analogi konsep listrik-magnet. Students of many countries have difficulties to learn electricity and magnetism concepts, because the concepts are abstract. Such problems also occur with students at physics education programs in Indonesia. Preliminary research reveals that many lecturers had problems to apply the inquiry model for lecturing in abstract concept of electricity and magnetism. Another fact found that analogy was already used in every lecturing of electricity and magnetism, but spontaneously and it is not well planned. Research and Development design was carried out to develop an instructional model using analogy and to create analogy mapping in electricity and magnetism concept. Preliminary study had been conducted in some physics education programs in Java and Sumatra. Based on the preliminary study, an instructional model had been developed in order to carry out restricted tryout and extended tryout on physics education program. The data were collected using documentation, observation, questioner, interview and administer test. The data were then analyzed by qualitative and quantitative method. Qualitative analysis used the following: transcription, tabulation, coding, and description. Quantitative analysis used the N-gain formula. The result of this research founds: an inquiry model instructional using analogy by following syntax: (1) observing phenomenon of base and target domain, (2) identifying problem about analogy two domain, (3) analysing relations analogy about two domain, (4) formulating hypothesis about similarity and difference of two domain, (5) examining hypothesis and collecting data, (6) interpreting and answer questions, (7) making conclusion and explain implications with found various analogy correlation. This research also found that, instructional model inquiry using analogy increases mastery of concept understanding (N-gain = 54%) and ability to make analogy mapping (N-gain = 56%) for prospective physics teachers, and 21 pairs of analogy mapping on physics.
