Abstract

Kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang pesat di era globalisasi ini mendorong siswa untuk memperoleh berbagai keterampilan, pengetahuan, dan sikap. Keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan dan pengetahuan esensial yang harus diprioritaskan oleh siswa abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan penerapan metode pembelajaran virtual field trip pada materi ekosistem. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas X MIPA disalah satu SMA Negeri di Lembang sebanyak 30 siswa (n=30). Instrumen yang digunakan berupa pre-test dan post-test sebanyak dua puluh tiga soal untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa mengalami peningkatan pada kategori rendah dengan N-gain 0,29. Melalui penelitian ini, terungkap bahwa peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada indikator memberikan penjelasan sederhana, membangun keterampilan dasar, memberikan penjelasan lebih lanjut, serta membangun strategi dan taktik berada pada kategori rendah, sedangkan indikator menyimpulkan berada pada kategori sedang. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan metode virtual field trip menunjukkan respon yang positif. The rapid progress of science and technology in this era of globalization encourages students to acquire various skills, knowledge, and attitudes. Critical thinking skills are one of the essential skills and knowledge that must be prioritized by 21st century students. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills by applying virtual field trip learning methods to ecosystem materials. The subjects in this study were students of class X MIPA in one of the public high schools in Lembang as many as 30 students (n = 30). The instrument used in the form of pre-test and post-test as many as twenty-three questions to measure critical thinking skills and student response questionnaires. The results showed that students' critical thinking skills increased in the low category with an N-gain of 0.29. Through this study, it was revealed that the improvement of students' critical thinking skills on the indicators of elementary clarification, basic support, advanced clarification, and strategy and tactics was in the low category, while the indicators inference that they were in the medium category. Student responses to learning with the virtual field trip method showed a positive response.
