Abstract

ABSTRAK Tanaman miana merupakan salah satu tanaman hias yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas ekstrak aquades daun miana (Coleus atropurpureus Linn) dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada mencit putih jantan. Mencit diinduksi aloksan 150 mg/kgBB secara intraperitonial dan dikatakan mengalami hiperglikemia apabila glukosa darah ≥126 mg/dL. Mencit dikelompokkan menjadi lima kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif (tidak diinduksi aloksan tanpa diberikan apapun selain pakan standar), kelompok kontrol positif (glibenklamid 5 mg/kgBB), kelompok perlakuan P1 (50 mg/kgBB), kelompok perlakuan P2 (100 mg/kgBB), dan kelompok perlakuan P3 (200 mg/kgBB). Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji one way ANOVA dan uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun miana mengandung tanin, terpenoid, saponin, dan flavonoid. Daun miana juga dapat menghambat penurunan berat pada mencit. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan penurunan kadar glukosa darah antar kelompok, dimana kelompok P3 menunjukkan persentase penurunan paling besar dan tidak berbeda nyata dengan kelompok kontrol positif. Kata Kunci: Antidiabetes, Miana, Aloksan, Mencit ABSTRACT Miana plant is one of the decorative plants that are widely cultivated in Indonesia. This study was aiming to examine the activity of miana leaf aquades extract (Coleus atropurpureus Linn) as an antidiabetes agent in mice. Mice were induced by alloxan 150 mg/kgBW intraperitoneally. Mice were grouped into 5 groups, negative control group (not induced by alloxant without being given anything other than standard feed), positive control group (glibenclamide 5 mg/kgBW), P1 treatment group (50 mg/kgBW), P2 treatment group (100 mg/kgBW). ), and treatment group P3 (200 mg/kgBW). The measurement of blood glucose levels was carried out after alloxan induction, then after the 14th day of treatment. The results were analyzed using the one way ANOVA test and Duncan test. The results of the analysis showed that there were differences in the decrease in blood glucose levels between groups, where the P3 group showed the largest percentage decrease.
