Abstract

Keterampilan membaca pemahaman adalah kemampuan membaca dalam hati (tanpa suara) yang bertujuan untuk memahami isi bacaan eksplisit dan implisit. Siswa yang memiliki pemahaman yang baik diharapkan akan mampu memahami isi bacaan secara baik. Berdasarkan observasi langsung di lapangan menemukan beberapa permasalahan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yaitu siswa kurangnya memahami bacaan, kurangnya siswa dalam memahami bacaan secara garis besar, siswa kurang menguasai dalam menyimpulkan isi teks yang dibacanya. Melihat permasalahan di atas, peneliti mengambil tindakan dengan mencoba media big book dengan tujuan meningkatkan membaca pemahaman siswa. Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu tiga orang siswa kelas IV di SDN 3 Nagritengah Purwakarta. Metode pengumpulan data yang dilakukan yaitu observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknis analisis dalam kondisi dan analisis antar kondisi. Hasil penelitian pada fase baseline-1 (A1) rata-rata memperoleh skor 52%, fase intervensi (B) 78%, dan fase baseline-2 (A2) 85%. Data overlap yang rendah pada fase baseline-1 (A1) ke fase intervensi (B) ke fase baseline-2 (A2) sebesar 0%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, menunjukan bahwa adanya peningkatan dalam menggunakan bantuan media big book terhadap siswa. ----- Comprehension reading skills are the ability to read silently (silently) aimed at understanding the content of explicit and implicit reading. Students who have a good understanding are expected to be able to understand the content of the reading well. Based on direct observations in the field, several problems were found in learning activities, namely students' lack of understanding of readings, lack of students in understanding the reading in outline, students lacking mastery in summing up the content of the text they read. Seeing the above problems, researchers took action by trying big book media with the aim of improving students' reading comprehension. The subjects in this study were three grade IV students at SDN 3 Nagritengah Purwakarta. The data collection methods carried out are observation, tests, and documentation. The technical data analysis used is technical analysis in conditions and analysis between conditions. The results of the study in the baseline-1 (A1) phase obtained an average score of 52%, intervention phase (B) 78%, and baseline phase-2 (A2) 85%. Low overlap data in baseline-1 (A1) phase to intervention phase (B) to baseline-2 phase (A2) by 0%. Based on the results of the study, it shows that there is an increase in using big book media assistance to students.
