Abstract

Kesuksesan karier peserta didik merupakan bagian dari tujuan layanan bimbingan dan konseling, kendati demikian masih sedikit program yang dirancang dan teruji secara khusus dapat mengembangkan kesuksesan karier peserta didik tersebut. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan program bimbingan mentoring yang efektif untuk mengembangkan kesuksesan karier peserta didik sekolah menengah atas. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma positivisme, pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen kuasi design non equivalent pretest posttest control group. Partisipan penelitian merupakan peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 5 Binjai Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen Kesuksesan Karier Remaja (IKKR) dikembangkan dan digunakan untuk pengumpulan data kesuksesan karier peserta didik. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik non parametrik Uji Wilcoxon dan Uji Mann Whitney U Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program bimbingan mentoring efektif untuk mengembangkan kesuksesan karier peserta didik, terutama pada indikator: pemahaman potensi, analisis jenis pekerjaan, perencanaan tujuan, kesungguhan diri, keputusan studi lanjut, penyesuaian diri dengan pekerjaan, keseimbangan aktivitas, keberanian mencoba dan melatih potensi diri. Keefektifan program bimbingan mentoring diketahui berdasarkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai post test kesuksesan karier kelompok eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol serta adanya peningkatan kesuksesan karier kelompok eksperimen sebelum dan setelah layanan bimbingan mentoring. Temuan penelitian ini direkomendasikan sebagai salah satu alternatif layanan di bidang bimbingan dan konseling untuk mengembangkan kesuksesan karier peserta didik. Kata kunci: Bimbingan Mentoring, Kesuksesan Karier, Perkembangan Karier Students' career success is part of the purpose of guidance and counseling services. However, there are still few programs specifically designed and tested to develop the career success of these students. Therefore, this research aims to produce an effective mentoring program to develop career success for high school students. This study used a positivism paradigm, a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design method of the non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group. Research participants were students of class XI SMA Negeri 5 Binjai in the 2021/2022 academic year. Sampling was done by using a purposive sampling technique. The Adolescent Career Success Instrument (ACSI) was developed and used to collect data on students' career success. Data analysis used non-parametric statistical tests, Wilcoxon, and Mann-Whitney U tests. The results showed that the mentoring program was effective in developing students' career success, especially on indicators: understanding potential, analysis of types of work, goal planning, self-seriousness, further study decisions, adjustment to work, the balance of activities, courage to try and train one's potential. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the mentoring guidance program was known based on the significant difference between the post-test scores of the experimental group's career success and the control group and the increase in the experimental group's career success before and after the mentoring guidance service. The findings of this study are recommended as an alternative service in the field of guidance and counseling to develop students' career success.
