Abstract

Hal yang mendasari pelaksanaan penelitian ini adalah masih rendahnya tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa Sekolah Dasar. Pemecahan masalah matematis adalah salah satu kemampuan yang penting dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk; (1) mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa Sekolah Dasar yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, Satisfaction (ARIAS) lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional; (2) mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, Satisfaction (ARIAS) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan design Non-equivalent control group design yaitu dengan memberikan pre test dan post test kepada dua kelompok yang berbeda di pembelajaran matematika pokok bahasan volume bangun ruang kubus dan balok. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 50 orang siswa, 25 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 25 siswa pada kelas kontrol di salah satu sekolah dasar negeri di kabupaten Bekasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis berbentuk uraian. Berdasarkan penelitian diperoleh hasil; (1) peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa Sekolah Dasar yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, Satisfaction (ARIAS) lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional; (2) terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, Satisfaction (ARIAS) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar. ----- The background of this research is the low level of student’s mathematical problem solving skills. Mathematical problem solving skills is one of important skills in learning mathematics. This research aimed to; (1) know the improvement of mathematical problem solving skills of elementary school students who learn using Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, Satisfaction (ARIAS) learning model are better than students who get the conventional approach; (2) know the effect of assurance, relevance, interest, assessment, satisfaction (ARIAS) learning model on mathematical problem solving skills improvement of elementary school students. The researcher used quasi-experimental as the methodology in this research with a non-equivalent control group design, namely by giving pretest and posttest to two learning groups in mathematics learning with the material of cubes and cubes volume. This research was conduct on 50 students, 25 students in experimental class and 25 students in control class, in an elementary school in Bekasi regency. The research instrument used in this study was mathematical problem solving skills test in the form of description. Based on the research findings, the researcher concluded that; (1) the improvement of mathematical problem solving skills of elementary school students who learned using Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, Satisfaction (ARIAS) learning model were better than students who got the conventional approach; (2) there was an effect on implementation of assurance, relevance, interest, assessment, satisfaction (ARIAS) learning model on mathematical problem solving skills improvement of elementary school students.
