Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa. Berpikir reflektif merupakan proses menghubungkan informasi yang dimiliki sebelumnya dengan yang sedang dipelajari yang menuntun seseorang untuk memecahkan masalah secara gigih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gaya kognitif siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika, mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa dalam pemecahan masalah pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar dan membahas kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa dalam pemecahan masalah pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar ditinjau dari gaya kognitif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini melibatkan 31 siswa kelas IX di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Cimahi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes dan non tes. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Uji keabasahan data menggunakan metode triangulasi. Hasil peneltiian ini menunjukkan siswa dengan gaya kognitif field dependent jauh lebih banyak dibandingkan siswa field independent. Selain itu, kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa masih tergolong rendah karena hanya terdapat 2 siswa dengan kategori tinggi, 14 siswa dengan kategori sedang dan 15 siswa dengan kategori rendah. Terungkap bahwa kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent jauh lebih baik daripada siswa dengan gaya kognitif field dependent. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent cenderung mampu memenuhi indikator dalam setiap fase berpikir reflektif matematis yaitu fase reacting, fase elaborating/comparing dan fase contemplating. Sedangkan pada siswa field dependent cenderung hanya mampu memenuhi indikator pada fase reacting dan fase elaborating/comparing saja. Mathematical reflective thinking ability is on of the abilities that student must have. Reflective thinking is the process of connecting previously owned information with what is being studied that leads a person to persistenly solve problems. The purpose of this research to describe student cognitive style in mathematics learning, describe mathematical reflective thinking ability in problem solving on the material of flat side space building, and describe mathematical reflective thinking ability in problem solving on the material of flat side space building in term of cognitive style. This design of research is cases study. The study involved 31 students of class IX at one of junior high school in Cimahi. The data collection technique used in this study is test and non test. The analysis technique used include data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Validity test of the data using triangulasi method. Research result show that field dependent students is more than field independent student. Furthermore, student mathematical reflective thinking ability is low because there are only 2 students with high category, 14 students with midium category and 15 students with low category. It was revealed that the students with the style of cognitive style field independent have the ability to think mathematical reflective better compared with the students with the cognitive style field dependent. This is because the subject to cognitive style field independent able to meet the indicator in a phase of reflective thingking namely phase of reacting, a phase comparing, and a phase of contemplating. While the subject field dependent only able to meet the indicator in a phase of reflective thinking namely phase of reacting and phase of comparing.
