Abstract

Pendidikan anak usia dini merupakan suatu upaya dan tindakan yang dilakukan oleh pendidik dan orang tua dalam memberikan pendidikan kepada anak. Hasil dari pendidikan yang diberikan berupa capaian kemampuan keterampilan. Keterampilan 4C yaitu Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, dan Collaboration merupakan keterampilan yang harus anak kuasi pada abad 21. Penelitian ini akan mengukur bagaimana 4C akan berkembang dengan menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis STEAM khususnya keterampilan kemampuan berkomunikasi anak usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian akan menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian menggunakan penelitian eksperimen berupa Pre-Experimental Designs (Nondesigns) dengan bentuk One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 15 anak usia dini berusia 5-6 tahun. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi yang berisikan indikator tingkat perkembangan anak pada aspek bahasa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistika deskriptif dan statistika inferensial. Penerapan STEAM yang dilakukan terdiri dari 3 rangkaian dengan langkah-langkah STEAM yaitu reflection, research, discovery, application dan communication. Sementara itu, kemampuan komunikasi anak mengalami perkembangan yang signifikan, terlihat dari kriteria sebelum penerapan STEAM berada pada “MB (Mulai Berkembang)” meningkat setelah penerapan STEAM menjadi “BSH (Berkembang Sesuai Harapan)”. ----- Early childhood education is the primary school for children.an effort and action takenand by peducated and people be old in providing education to one's The result of education is the achievement of skills. The 4C skills of Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Collaboration are the skills that must be quasi-periodic in the 21st century. This study will measure how 4C will develop using STEAM-based learning in particular communication skills of children aged 5-6 years. The research will use quantitative research methods with research designs using Pre-Experimental Designs (Nondesigns) with the form One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study subjects consisted of 15 early childhoods aged 5–6. The instrument used is an observation sheet containing indicators of the child's level of development in language aspects. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The STEAM implementation consists of three series of steps: reflection, research, discovery, application and communication. Meanwhile, children's communication skills have developed significantly, seen from the criteria before STEAM's implementation was at "MB (Starting to Develop)" increased after STEAM's implementation to "BSH (Developing in Expectation)".
