Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika pada tingkat sekolah dasar mengharuskan siswa untuk menguasai empat kemampuan berhitung dasar, yaitu berhitung penjumlahan, pengurangan, perkalian dan pembagian. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam melakukan operasi hitung perkalian. Penguasaan kemampuan berhitung dasar ini sangat penting karena sebagai bekal untuk materi-materi selanjutnya di matematika, selain itu kemampuan tersebut sangat berguna dan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini diantaranya: 1) Mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berhitung siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapatkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Course Review Horay (CRH) lebih baik daripada siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional; 2) Mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Course Review Horay (CRH) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berhitung siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design pada pokok bahasan operasi hitung perkalian bilangan cacah di kelas III sekolah dasar dengan jumlah subjek 46 siswa. Instrumen tes kemampuan berhitung perkalian yang digunakan yaitu data sebelum dan sesudah dilakukannya pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan: 1) Peningkatan kemampuan berhitung perkalian siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Course Review Horay (CRH) lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional; 2) Terdapat pengaruh model Course Review Horay (CRH) terhadap kemampuan berhitung perkalian. Rekomendasi bagi penelitian selanjutnya yaitu penelitian lebih lanjut terkait faktor lain yang dapat mempengaruhi peningkatan kemampuan berhitung perkalian selain menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CRH ini. ----- numeracy skills, namely calculating addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This research is motivated by the low ability of student to perform multiplication arithmetic operations. Mastery of basic numeracy skills is very important because it is a provision for further material in mathematics, besides that these abilities are very useful and can be used for everyday life. The goal of this research are: 1) Knowing the increase in numeracy skills of elementary school students who received Course Review Horay (CRH) cooperative learning were better than elementary school students who received conventional learning; 2) To determine the effect of the Course Review Horay (CRH) cooperative learning model on the improvement of elementary school students' numeracy skills. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design on the subject of whole number multiplication operations in grade III elementary school with 46 students as subjects. The multiplication counting ability test instrumen used is data before and after learning. Based on the results of the study concluded; 1) Increased multiplication ability of elementary school students who received learning using the Course Review Horay (CRH) cooperative learning model better than students who received conventional learning; 2) There is an effect of the Course Review Horay (CRH) model on the ability to count multiplication. The recommendation for further research is to conduct further research related to other factors that can affect the increase in multiplication counting skills other than using this cooperative learning model type course review horay.
