Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap faktor penyebab keterlambatan membaca permulaan, proses penerapan Teknik ALBA, hambatan yang terjadi selama proses penerapan Teknik ALBA dan hasil setelah diterapkannya Teknik ALBA dalam mengatasi keterlambatan membaca permulaan siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian studi kasus dan jenis penelitian Single Case Design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu sekolah dasar yang berada di Kabupaten Bandung Barat, dengan melibatkan satu orang siswa yang mengalami keterlambatan membaca permulaan, guru walikelas dan orang tua/wali siswa yang bersangkutan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan pedoman wawanca, pedoman observasi, lembar tes kemampuan membaca siswa sesuai dengan kesulitan yang dialami dan dokumentasi. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan cara reduksi data, display data, serta penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Teknik ALBA merupakan teknik membaca abjad pada suku kata, sehingga kosa kata latihan yang terdapat pada buku teknik ALBA memiliki pola k-v-k-v. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa faktor utama penyebab siswa mengalami keterlambatan membaca yakni faktor keadaan keluarga yang berpengaruh pada faktor internal siswa. Pada penelitian menerapkan Buku 3 dengan durasi waktu 6×15 menit dan Buku 4 dengan durasi waktu 4×15 menit. Hambatan yang terjadi selama proses penerapan Teknik ALBA disebabkan oleh minat dan motivasi siswa, konsentrasi siswa, jumlah kosa kata pada buku Teknik ALBA, serta cara penerapan Teknik ALBA. Sembilan dari sepuluh indikator kesulitan yang dialami siswa sudah berada pada level “Cukup Lancar” setelah diterapkannya Teknik ALBA dalam mengatasi keterlambatan membaca permulaan siswa sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Kata Kunci : membaca permulaan, Teknik ALBA, siswa sekolah dasar ABSTRACT This study aims to uncover the factors causing the delay in reading the beginning, the process of applying the ALBA Technique, the obstacles that occur during the process of applying the ALBA Technique and the results after the application of the ALBA Technique in overcoming the delay in reading the beginning of elementary school students. This research uses a qualitative approach with case study research design and the type of Single Case Design research. This research was carried out in one of the elementary schools in West Bandung Regency, involving one student who experienced delays in reading the beginning, the teacher of the class guardian and the parent/guardian of the student concerned. The data collection technique uses wawanca guidelines, observation guidelines, student reading ability test sheets according to the difficulties experienced and documentation. The data from the study are analyzed by means of data reduction, data display, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. The ALBA technique is a technique of reading the alphabet on syllables, so that the vocabulary of the exercises contained in the ALBA technique book has a k-v-k-v pattern. The results of the study revealed that the main factor causing students to experience reading delays was the family situation factor that influenced students' internal factors. In the study, book 3 with a time duration of 6×15 minutes and Book 4 with a time duration of 4×15 minutes. The obstacles that occur during the process of applying the ALBA Technique are caused by the interest and motivation of students, the concentration of students, the amount of vocabulary in the ALBA Engineering book, and the way in which the ALBA Technique is applied. Nine out of ten indicators of difficulty experienced by students are already at the "Fairly Smooth" level after the application of the ALBA Technique in overcoming the delay in reading the beginning of elementary school students in West Bandung Regency.
