Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada adanya kemungkinan hambatan belajar yang dialami siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi hambatan belajar relasi dan fungsi siswa kelas VIII SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan didactical design research (DDR) yang melibatkan siswa SMP kelas VIII dan seorang guru matematika. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi. Berdasarkan temuan dan pembahasan dalam penelitian ini, karakteristik hambatan belajar yang teridentifikasi adalah hambatan ontogenik, hambatan didaktik, hambatan epistomologis. Hambatan ontogenik yang teridentifikasi adalah hambatan ontogenik yang bersifat psikologis, instrumental dan konseptual. Hambatan ontogenik psikologis terlihat dari kurangnya gairah belajar siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, sedangkan hambatan ontogenik instrumental terlihat dari kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap istilah-istilah pada materi relasi dan fungsi. Siswa kesulitan dalam melakukan operasi hitung khususnya perkalian bilangan negatif. Hambatan ontogenik konseptual terlihat dari kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap materi himpunan sebagai materi prasyarat relasi dan fungsi, dimana siswa kesulitan menuliskan anggota himpunan dengan metode tabulasi. Hambatan didaktik yang teridentifikasi terkait dengan cara penyampaian materi dan buku sumber yang digunakan oleh siswa. Hambatan epistimologi yang teridentifikasi berkaitan dengan pemahaman siswa terhadap pengertian relasi dan fungsi, menerapkan rumus fungsi, serta kaitan antar konsep relasi dan fungsi dengan konsep lainnya. Hambatan belajar yang teridentifikasi ini menjadi pertimbangan untuk menyusun Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) dan Desain Didaktis Rekomendasi. Teachers must be able to create a conducive and effective learning situation for students by compiling learning designs according to the level of student ability and paying attention to learning obstacles experienced by students. This research aims to identify learning obstacles in mathematics relations and functions of 8th grade junior high school students. This research uses a qualitative approach with didactical design research (DDR) involving eighth-grade junior high school students and a mathematics teacher. Data collection was obtained by triangulation. Based on the data analysis, the characteristics of the identified learning obstacles are ontogenic obstacle, didactical obstacle, and epistemological obstacle. The ontogenic obstacle identified are ontogenic obstacle that are psychological, instrumental, and conceptual. Psychological ontogenic obstacle can be seen through the lack of student’s enthusiasm for learning in participating in learning. In contrast, instrumental ontogenic obstacles can be seen through student’s lack of understanding of terms in relation and function. Students have difficulty in arithmetic operations, especially the multiplication of negative numbers. Conceptual ontogenic obstacles can be seen through students' lack of understanding of the set material as a prerequisite for relations and functions, where students have difficulty writing down the members of the set by the tabulation method.. Identified didactical obstacles are related to the learning method and sourcebooks. The identified epistemological obstacles are related to students' understanding of the meaning of relations and functions, applying function formulas, and the connections between the concepts of relations and functions with other concepts. The identified learning obstacles become a consideration to construct a Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) and a Recommendation Didactic Design.
