Abstract

Penelitian ini difokuskan pada penguatan karakter kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab peserta didik. Melalui metode reward dan punishment peserta didik akan mampu meningkatkan karakter kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab. Tujuannya untuk membandingkan hasil tingkat kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Kiarapandak 01 melalui metode reward dan punishment dengan metode konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mix method, dengan desain penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Hasil penelitian dari populasi penelitian penguatan karakter kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab peserta didik SD Negeri Kiarapandak 01 melalui metode reward dan punishment yang diukur dengan menggunakan instrumen angket dan wawancara adalah sebagai berikut 1) terdapat perbedaan antara pretest dan posttest metode reward dan punishment dengan metode konvensional dengan (p = 0,000), 2) Uji N-Gain menunjukan bahwa kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab peserta didik yang menggunakan metode reward dan punishment berada pada kategori sedang dengan (p = 0,47) dan yang menggunakan metode konvensional berada pada kategori rendah (p = 0,03), 3) Uji t menunjukan bahwa metode reward dan punishment dengan metode konvensional memiliki perbedaan dengan (p = 0,000) yang berarti metode reward dan punishment lebih baik daripada metode konvensional yang ditunjukan dengan nilai sebesar 0,000 < 0,025, 4) Uji korelasi menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan metode reward dan punishment terhadap kedisiplinan dan tanggung jawab peserta didik dengan tingkat hubungan yang rendah. Adapun hambatan yang terdapat dalam pelaksanaan metode reward dan punishment terdiri atas hambatan internal dan eksternal. Kata Kunci: Metode Reward dan Punishment, Kedisiplinan, Tanggung Jawab. This research will be focused on strengthening character building, discipline, and responsibility. The method used is reward and punishment, and students will be able to improve their character of discipline and responsibility. This study aims to compare the results of discipline and responsibility levels of students through the method of reward and punishment with conventional methods. This study uses a mixed-method approach with a quasiexperimental research design. The result from research population the strengthening discipline and responsibilities characters measuring by used the instrument with questionnaire and interview like in this research , there is a difference between the pretest and post-test methods of reward and punishment with conventional methods with (p = 0.000). The N-Gain test shows that the discipline and responsibility of students who used reward and punishment methods are in the moderate category level (p = 0,47), and those who use the conventional method are in a low category level (p = 0,03). So the t-test with the conventional method shows that the reward and punishment method has a difference with (p = 0.000). Thus, the reward and punishment method is better than the conventional method. These are indicated by a value of 0.000 < 0.025. The correlation test shows the relation between the reward and punishment method on the discipline and responsibility of students with a low level of relationship. Implementation of the reward and punishment method has contained the obstacles that consisted of internal and external barriers. Keywords: Reward and Punishment Method, Discipline, Responsibility
